Does anyone know where the the safety switch on the tailgate is so I can roll the window up while the gate is open? I can not find the darn switch anywhere in the tailgate so I can trick it. Pictures would be great if possible but any help is greatly appreciated. :headscratch:

Assuming you want to get to the mechanicals in the gate to do some maintenance or repair...
With the gate open and a saw table nearby to support the glass you simply use a screwdriver to depress the two latches fully on each side of the tailgate then insert your key into the tailgate and extend the window.
Do whatever you need to do and when done roll the window back in but also be sure to pull the tailgate handle and insure the latches reopen fully before trying to close the tailgate.
*Be careful, it is very easy to overextend the window in this procedure and have the glass end up on the ground.

Correct on the maintenance. The window is moving very slow and hesitant. Gave the channels a nice lithium grease treatment that helped but I think I'm the only to ever service it by the looks of it. The other reason is that I need to remove the lock cylinder to have it rekeyed since the key that came with the truck only works the ignition. Probably safer to just get to the cylinder from the inside with gate and window up and locked. I used to service the window on my blazer with a saw horse like you described.
