let me know when they get one in for the front diff... im still strongly considering a locked front for those "oh darn" moments on the trail when you really wish you had one. but forking over ARB dough for the rare "oh darn" is a bit too much for me!

FWIW There's a whole debate going on Marlin's board right now about all of it..

I'm getting a Yukon Zip installed tomorrow in the truck.
I've read the debates, seen the ARB vs Zip locker videos, and I'm not concerned about the Zip locker in any way. First off, I'm always suspicious about "tests" that companies do to compare their product to another companies product. Not to mention, I don't plan on putting myself in a position to break axle shafts, diffs, or anything else for the matter. Finally, they have been out for a few years now, and from my searching, I've yet to hear/read anything about a single one breaking.
I'll simply say that the ARB video was quite disappointing to see them stoop to that level, but that's their call.
If I had a buggy, you'd bet I'd go with an ARB, but I'm putting this in my truck that won't see those forces on the diff. So to save money I'm going with the Zip.

Thanks Sean! Yeah, that is pretty questionable business ethics.

Whoa guys, lets not necessarily jump around on ARB's shop sign in dissent so quick here. *FWIW and not that it matters, that was/has been purely an internal video that ARB had for dealers information only when inquired about ARB's benefits, etc. It was deliberately not available to the public b/c ARB did not want to be appear to bash on the competition, in fact, competition is good. Maybe they decided it was high time people saw what the issue is and I am glad they released it, heck, there are about 3 other's I can think of that should also be available to the public dealing with what can happen if you don't adjust your line pressure and inspect your air lines.
That said, yes in it they joke about the locker being worse than the Chinese version, but honestly, that's Aussie for ya, like me they tell you how it is and the mouth filter isn't always on. If it was released by ARB, good, it shows you what happens, if someone else can show me the opposite of said results in an open and independently duplicated test I'll eat crow.
So, just to put this to rest, it's just like the Marlin vs. TrailGear debate, buy what you prefer or your budget allows and be ready for the reality in this hobby that nothing is "bulletproof". Me, I'd rather deal with a possible shaft than anything, but I guess that's me. In the end ARB's always gotten my money and will continue to so simply because they do things well and when they screw it up bad (which is rare) they've owned up to it and taken care of things.

Are ARB's stronger? Probably, but one test produced by ARB is not a great way to make that point.
It's marketing at its finest. I'm not swearing off their product at all, if I had the $ and I needed something that I knew was time tested and could handle the punishment of KoH, etc, I'd go with an ARB. But I'm not running KoH, I've got a weekend warrior to get me out camping. I got a deal on a Zip locker, and since there's no bad reviews, just crap slinging, I'm happy with my decision.

the test shows they are both stupid strong. run the test 10 times and im sure its not always going to be the same results. I read a bit of the threads....no one has any real world complaints. not even some "my brothers friends neighbors uncle" stories

Just found out, the Zip locker isn't currently made for the T100/Tacoma rear end right now, but it should be coming out shortly. So, I didn't end up getting it, but hopefully once it is released I can throw it in and report back to you guys!
