View Full Version : Rattling under acceleration

Under acceleration I have a rattling noise coming from somewhere under my car and the pitch of the rattle varies (sometimes its louder than others). Once the cruise control is set the noise goes away or more less can still be heard slightly but once you give it gas it's back.

It does not make this at idle.

I originally thought the exhaust was loose but it has to play to it.

Any ideas what it might be.

without hearing it...I have ahd a few vehicals with heat sheilds on the exhaust that rattled sorta like that.

You sure it's a physical rattle and not an engine noise, sounding like marbles in the engine?

When everything is cooled off enough to touch, go under your converter and bang it with your fist and see if you've roasted one of the honeycombs. Mine did that when the front one broke loose and rattled around in there.
