I haven't changed my wheels in years and I tried to take them off while it is on jack stands and they are stuck on!
All the lugnuts are off, I jack up the wheel off the ground and the dat blame thing just won't come off! I've hit it with a block of wood and on the rear I put a 2X4 behind it to get some leverage and try to pull it off using that, but it won't budge.
I sprayed it with WD-40 the past two nights, but is there something better I should use? And where should I spray? I just sprayed the wheel studs and around the hub.
What have you guys done?

Make sure the truck is VERY secure. (jackstand, and only one wheel off of the ground at a time) and sit down on the ground, and use both feet to kick the bottom sidewall of the tire. There is nothing mechanical to hold a wheel on once the lugnuts are off, so just use force. :hillbill:

I have the truck on 4 jack stands now, but the wheels do touch the ground. About less than an inch of raising on the axle and the wheel is off the ground so is that good enough for it to be stable to kick the bottom of the wheel? I have a fear of the truck falling off and crushing me. Might be stupid, but it's my medical phobia.

I would say that is probably okay. You shouldn't be under the truck anyway. Just sit back, and kick. You can try just pushing with your feet as well, but I find this is a scary moment when it does come off. So I kick. You can also try using a rubber mallet and pounding the center of the wheel around the stud holes, and instead of WD-40, you may want to try a little bit of penetrating oil like Liquid Wrench.

I know, I know....I won't be under the truck kicking the bottom of the tire out to get it to come off, but I am stupid enough to think that I will kick the tire off and the whole will just wobble and fall on me. Something like the Wylie Coyote. :shake: :screwy:
I will try to not be a :loser: and get it done like a real :wrenchin:!
I already did a regular hammer, but that just bounces off. Lucky I didn't bounce that fucker into my skull!! Then I used a long 2x4 and hammered that because I didn't want to damage the awesome stock wheels :P. I'll pick up some liquid wrench or something and put that everywhere I can to let it start working. I guess I need a BFH! I'm sure the kick will do!
PB Blaster and the kick worked. Got one, three to go. Jeez, fuckers are stuck!

Atta boy!! 1 down 3 to go. the kick almost always works. :)
I like to stand up and give it a kick, then if the truck does fall you can jump outta the way. A 2lb sledge to the sidewall works too.

. . . and when you kick them off, leave 1 lug nut threaded on 2-3 turns to keep the wheel from flying off and either hitting something or rolling away

 I don't have that strong enough of a kick. I'm still sitting at one. These things are solid! They don't want to come off.
Your not hitting it hard enough then.
In all my time as a roadservice tech I only had 2 truly frozen wheels, 1 was a focus with steel rims I beat to death and it wouldnt budge and I wasnt going under it and 2 was a jetta I beat so bad the rim on the inside looked like hell-I gave up on that one-shame too was a hot girl who I was trying to impress lol.
Take your sledge and bang away on the tire in multiple spots, kick in multiple spots, use the spare tire as a hammer (works well lol), spray up the lugs and hub area with PBlaster, heat the hub/lugs a bit if you need to. Drop the truck several times if need be. It will come off, just takes effort.
That dont work, come visit me and I will make you look like a weak girl cause I bet 1 solid kick it comes off for me lol

They're off! Kicks did not work at all, but I used the first wheel as a hammer. After 4 or 5 good hits it broke free. The fronts were easier, only one or two hits from the extra wheel. Case closed.

now, when you go to put them back on, a liberal coating of antisieze on the mating surfaces is probably a very very good idea.

FWIW it's b/c of (IMHE) the alloys corrode a little to the metal. Add that they're hub centric instead of lug centric and it adds to it. I almost always have to kick the living shit out of them or have my resident linebacker kick them to loosen them, and I do my rotations every 5-7k. Let's start seeing some pics out of this build man!!

Yea? I hadn't removed those wheels in..........uuhhhhhhh.....years???

I dunno....all this negativity on my thread about dying and such. It all seems so hard. I think I am losing interest.
Edit Rocko: Fixed your qoutes.
