The Daystars and stock springs are sagging to the point of needing to be replaced. So, I've finally narrowed down my front lift to the OEM 3" offered by several vendors on the web. I'd like to see how that lift looks with the LC coil lift in the rear with any size tire, but especially 285's. I know there are a lot of people here running that combination, but am having a hard time finding pictures. A link to what I'm looking at is posted below...

Thanks!

Ok to start Im running the Sonoran Steel lift but I used 2 spacers in the front instead of 1 there fore adding 1" additional making the front 3" and rear since I left the cone in around 3.75". I did add the diff drop spacer and limiting straps just in case the cv angle was to great. Since installing this system I have had no complaints I only wanted to do it once and so I did, thought my LC coils are settling down and its time for new ones. The only reason I know this is because when I load it up it sags a bit, not bad but im real picky. Here are a few pics with various tires and sizes, Interco SSR 285, Nitto Terra's 295, Cooper STT's 285, BFG AT's 285. I do have a set of wheel hub adapters to kick the tires out and clear the a-arms. It rides very nice and with the winch bumper and winch it floats over big bumps offroad.

Thanks for the pics! Now, it's between the Tundra OEM and OME 3" setup. I still can't decide.

ummm... there is no such thing as a OME (Old Man Emu) 3" setup...

can you explain what you mean by using that termonology/acronym?

he probably is referring to the toytec kit

3" rear ome coils, 1.5" ome coil up front with a 1.5 or 2" spacer.

Buy cheap, buy twice or in your case a third time.

I've posted a link to the lift setup in the first post. It looks like they're 3" lift coils with a set of top out spacers. If they're 1.5" coils with 1.5" spacers, I'll look at something else.

[that link doesn't work!]

if it's toytec's 3" lift, then they are 1.5" OME coils with another 1.5" of spacers.

spacers usually sag springs, look into spring only setup like the tundras or a coilover.

weigh down the LC coils in the rear. my tire carrier and sub box + hitch helps with the rear to level up with my tundras, even though i dont really like this setup as its getting to be a little too tippy for my taste. but thats just me.

air bags make a nice addition to the LC springs + weight. it counters the tippyness and makes the load carrying ability an adjustable feature.

Well, that just shoots the OME idea down! Dang and I thought I was on to something.

sorry, i was incorrect. they say that they are OME coils and a top plate spacer. the top plate spacer they sell gives ~3/4" of lift, so they are counting on the coils providing 2.25" of lift by themselves. i wouldn't count on that unless they were 892's and those are STIFF!

also, you really shouldn't go over about 2.25 to 2.5" total. the lower you are w/ the suspension lift, the stronger your front drivetrain will be and fewer problems you will have.

Call ARB. Here is the phone number 206-264-1669 Ask them what the official lift height of the 880 and 881 is. They will tell you 1 1/4" over stock. It is a replacement suspension, not a lift kit.

Just buy the SS kit and be done with it! Buy it once and use forever*
