For those wanting to understand what in the heck we're doing here I replied to his question

why dont you explain it to everyone? These are not really mainstream yet

^LOL, true.

The first post contains the url code to my picture files on my build, all 100-ish pictures I have so far. What this form of code does is allow the sending of data through a quickly accessible means. For example you'll see it a lot in Japan on billboards, display screens, etc-etc. It was used on the assembly line at NUMMI for parts tracking and location or destination information. You'll also start seeing it in use in magazines soon. When we went to Mexico for example, at the S.F. Airport there were a couple you could use to get free coffee at the duty free. The direct relation to us in this forum is not necessarily the use of these codes, but that Toyota/Denso-Wave can be credited with the creation of it. I find it pretty cool that along with little things like this that things Toyota does translate into everyday life, say they're allowing use of impact modeling to better design sports safety goods like helmets, etc. :D

As far as the code specifically I wonder why the U.S. has been so far behind in bringing it to use. Right now from what I see it's a bourgening/growth technology. Here's some more info on it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QR_code

The QR generator I use is freeware based: http://qrcode.kaywa.com/

I just simply grab what I want to convert into a scan code and drop it into the content type line. It generates the code which I can either download or in my case just screen shot it and attach it to a reply. Ultimately this can be used as a means to transfer data quickly and easily. The phone app right now is read-only but the ability to generate the code is not too far behind. (They just haven't made a printer to go with these yet.. )

So say for example you want to download a trail map, the code img is available at a trailhead and you just scan to get it.
