hey just a heads up that I believe a loose ebrake bracket has cause a axle seal leak for me on two occasions.

Its the bracket right next to the breather and if it shifts left and you apply ebrake then your vent will be forced shut. I think I either drove with the ebrake on or had the stuck vent from forcing it down.

symtoms were a considerable burp of gear oil into the right drum and then the leak would mysteriously fix itself.

Interesting. I had 2 seals leak on me in 12 months. Then I had bearings go so I replaced the bearings as well as inner and outer seals. They've been good but I've been meaning to do something about my breather. From what I can tell there is not a good seal in them. I guess there is an o ring or something but I cleaned mine out and replaced it another time and they seem a little hookie. We have water up here and I plan to raise mine one day when I have the time.

In the mean time I'll check out my bracket. If it looks like it needs it I'll tack it on.
