Soda Lake & Mojave River (West edge of Mojave Road) 11-4-2011

We are doing the western edge of the Mojave road (Kelso to Afton Canyon)

DATE CHANGED.

Meet: Nov 4, 2011 @ 10AM at Kelso Depot, drive up Kelbaker road and start the trail at approximately seventeen mile point (just west of the lava fields) at 10:30 AM (approximate). Go west covering Soda Lake, and the Mojave River. We will end at Afton Canyon, where there is a campground. approximate trail time is 3-5 hours. about 50 or 60 miles of offroad travel.

basic rules:
working vehicle
enough water to survive 3 days in the desert per person.
typical recovery equipment
etc.

That sounds like fun! Too bad I've got so much school and stuff to do. I'm going to Death Valley this weekend :D I love geology.

TTORA or MJR is your best hope for a socal run. I know TTORA its full of Duck tards but there is some cool guys that wheel alot on there as as well. Have fun and take pictures! I have to web wheel for the next three monthes

i have one maybe from expo, otherwise im fully equipped for solo travel.

I would love to do it some day. It sounds like alot of fun and a good trial run of long trip preporation
