I had this same thread last year, and guess what... I got another Home Depot gift card, and looking for ideas again. I've got $75 to spend, and not sure what I want to get.

A few things I'm considering:
DeWalt 18v .5gal Wet/Dry Vac (http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1v/R-100609523/h_d2/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053): This seems like it would be good for cleaning out the 4Runner. It'd save me from lugging the vacuum out, plus it comes with an 18v battery that I could use with my 18v DeWalt drill that has a battery that's toast.
GearWrench 18pc 1/2 Drive Socket Set (http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1v/R-202739069/h_d2/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053): I've got a 1/4 and 3/8" drive set, and use those the most. Should I not worry getting a 1/2 drive? When would it be good to have 1/2 drive? I know I accidentally bought a 1/2 drive socket for the rear diff drain plug... other than that? I just like tools! Especially when they have cases..as I don't have a big toolbox.
Cast iron, double burner, griddle (http://www.homedepot.com/h_d1/N-5yc1v/R-203080070/h_d2/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053)

Other things I've thought about are:
Creeper
Work light (That I can hang, or drag underneath the truck with me.) -If the prices were right I'd get the creeper and light.
Deep fryer
Selling the gift card, and just using the $ elsewhere.

Currently leaning towards the Vac, or griddle. Any recommendations.. I like cooking & I like tools. I cook more than I work on my 4Runner.

Again it's your call. I for one would pass on the battery operated vacuum. We have a battery powered Dust buster from Target and it's great a a lot cheaper. I use it in the 4Runner for spot cleans. I prefer my 16 gallon shop vac though plus it's useful all over the house inside and out.

i use 1/2 drive sockets on the 4runner, my bicycles and random things around the house. I've got SAE and Metric in impact and non impact. On the 4runner it's mostly impact sockets. Things like wheels and suspension are much more fun to work on using air tools. If you've got some or want to start getting some I'd look into them.

I think your creeper and light sound like good options.

OK, I'll say if it were me I'll go with two things..griddle and tools. Out of those two I know our resident Uber-Chef Beau will agree on the griddle.

Definitely a griddle, DUH. Did you not see my "Last Bit of Freedom Before Baby" thread?
Ribeye and t-bone in the woods is the shit, just have a set of pans to bang if in bear territory.:D (pic below)

Tools, well, because...

..tools.
;) Again, DUH!!

Not trying to be a dick here, but I gotta wonder, unless the gift card's from a sibling or parent (who does that anyhow, that's a fucking cop-out and not bothering to care or know what exactly your immediate family member wants) sell it, buy a fruitcake on clearance price from Whole Foods, freeze it for a damn year, and gift it to the person who keeps giving them to you?

*Do note I neglected to suggest selling the card, getting all $75 in singles and going to the local bar with the brass pole.

   :spit: :D
~Please be laughing your ass off right now. ;)

Another option that might work for you - if HD also sells pre-paid Visa cards, use your gift card to buy the pre-paid-spend-it-anywhere-you-want card ;)

It's worked for me in the past at other stores (IIRC, there might have been a $2 charge to do this at some chains)

If you don't already have one, get a Multimeter (http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Search?keyword=multimeter&selectedCatgry=SEARCH+ALL&langId=-1&storeId=10051&catalogId=10053&Ntpc=1&Ntpr=1). Use the rest to buy toolboxes or toolbags (they have good deals on those now)
