So the time has come once again. My wife is 9 months pregnant and due sometime soon. I figured I'd start another little post just because. Here is the baby #1 story: http://www.ultimateyota.com/index.php?option=com_smf&Itemid=26&topic=7466.0

She is starting to have mini contractions but those have been around for about 5 weeks. Only difference now is that she's at 40 weeks

Chances of things starting tonight are high because I didn't really set things up at work yet to be gone, I've been up since 5am, worked all day and raced a mountain bike race tonight (complete is a crash that may result in some wicked poison oak). She, myself and my now 3 year old are ready to meet our son. If it works out I'll post up some stuff as it comes along.

Boy or Girl?

Boy. On April Fools I played a joke on my parents and Facebook friends that we had twins. Alas, no twins but Maggie is super excited to be a big sister. She pretty much has the first years of her brother's life planned. It includes lot of reading, playing, walking, eating and going to the park. Sounds good to me.

Painful contractions are starting. They aren't too bad but they are different than the ones for the past couple of weeks. So much for trying to sleep. I need to throw some Rockstars in the fridge.

gonna be a long night!

We actually went to sleep around midnight so I got about 5 hours in. She slept all night and seemed fine so I came into work. As I was walking in the doors I get a call from her saying the contractions are still there so it looks like it'll be a short day. I've got my bike with me and intend on leaving early that way I'm not forced into a 23 mile individual time trial just to get home.

Today was pretty chill. We hung out, I got a bike ride in, did my yard and the neighbor's, we went out for lunch and made a nice dinner. I imagine things will fire up again tonight when we start to get tired. Marin went to the store the other day and stocked up on somethings so we wouldn't have to go out for awhile. I looked around and didn't see much so I went out for a few things just to make sure we were good.

I think I was thirsty while walking the isles. The checker was a young guy and said, "Wow, looks like you're having a party." Me, "Not so much."

Chris, I actually don't drink all that much soda, at home at least. It was buy 2 get 3 free so I bit. That stash will last us through summer I'm sure. The beer, probably about a week since we already had a bunch. I just wanted to make sure we (I) didn't run out.

Thanks guys.

I was wondering about that. You don't strike me as the soda type of guy. :) I thought maybe you were going to bathe the new baby in a diet pepsi bath or something.

:D Congrats again Mike-n-Family!

If she's laboring along play this a bit. It'll drive Mom's and baby to the point where the birth will happen just so it gets turned off sooner? ;)

@Chris, figure it's likely at least safer than doing like I did and drinking coffee all night to the point it turns your stomach through the caffeine and stress?

Congrats and good luck!

What's the plan? Hospital, Birth Center? My wife delivered our daughter (baby #2) at our local birth center in a tub and it was a surreal experience!!!

*I think/pretty sure they're doing it @ home w/ a tub.

Mike, did you guys tell us the kid's name yet or did I miss or forget it?

We're doing another water birth at home. Yes it is an awesome experience. Right now my wife is beyond ready and just wants the baby out. There were a few contractions today but nothing much.

We've been hanging out with a lot of friends and family and overall keeping busy to take her mind off of the baby and it's plan to not come out. So far it's working at keeping her preoccupied. I'm hoping the full moon tonight aligns with the stars and makes something happen, I don't want to go back to work on Monday.

Well, I got called home from work and the birthing tub is set up. Contractions are strong and close together but it will still be some time. Gonna be a long night.

Baby is here and once again, one handed typing. Max was born at 9 pm and weighed in at 9 pounds, 4 ounces. He's a big and happy boy. I'll post pics when i find my phone. Thanks for the well wishes.

Congrats! That boy sounds well done!

It was amazing to see our friends' son who is the same age as my daughter, but was almost 2 weeks late next to my daughter who was 3 weeks early. Every day in the womb makes a huge difference in development!!!

Some pics. He's sleeping in my arms right now so not a lot of typing. Some of you have already seen these.
