The Store We now have an online store for our current crop of awesome Ultimate Yota stickers! Our great logo, designed by "Calrockx " would look great on your truck or 4Runner. There are more sticker enhancements coming over the next few months too.
Stay tuned for logowear entering the store also. We are taking requests from the members on what we should have available in this thread . So far, the list is shaping up with t-shirts, work shirts, hoodies, baseball hats, and beanies. Watch for an announcement of when the logowear will be available.
For those whom have asked how you can help the site, this is your chance. All proceeds from the sale of logo items goes directlty to our operating fund.
Advertising Program We have been asked by several new (to UY) vendors about putting their banners on our site. Our pilot program with the banners you currently see has been a big success. With page impressions in the hundred thousands and click-throughs in the hundreds, it's clear that the companies we have picked are of interest to our membership. When I say companies we have picked, I mean just that. We hand pick whom we allow to participate in our advertising program. We are not going to accept every company that applies - seriously, who wants to see Chevy ads on a Toyota 4x4 tech site? It's not always just about the money. We don't want to waste your time - time that you could be posting tech!
If you know of a suitable company that the membership can benefit from knowing about, please contact a staff member and we'll take it from there.
Also note that our advertising program will not be adding additional banner locations to the site - what you see today is what it has been and what it will be. No pop-ups or any of that annoying stuff. And of course, all proceeds from the advertising program goes directly to our operating fund. No monkey business on our watch.
Public Service BannersYou may have noticed a few new banners in the mix on the site. We feel a strong obligation to spread the word about Treading Lightly and the rapidly growing problem with trail closures. We are now affiliated with threee very important groups who are spearheading the fight for us to keep our trails open. Please do what you can to get involved with these groups and arm yourself with knowledge about what's going on.
It's official! We are a Tread Lightly media partner (we have been for a couple of months, we just haven't gotten around to making the announcement) Many of you know about the Tread Lightly organization and all of us should be Treading Lightly while on the trail. If you can leave the trail in better condition than you found it, you are doing your part! For more information see the Tread Lightly site. Consider a donation to Tread Lightly to help fund their efforts!
We are also a partner with ARRA (Americans for Resposnsible Recreational Access). This group has been formed to ensure that outdoor enthusiasts can keep their right to enjoy and responsibly use public lands and waterways. Please visit the ARRA site and subscribe to their mailing list. It is a great way to stay informed about what is going on with our trails and to get notification of petitions that need our attention.
UltimateYota is now also a member of the Blue Ribbon Coalition. Their slogan: "Preserving our natural resources FOR the public instead of FROM the public" couldn't be more appropriate! Their efforts are to stop the onslaught of closures and unreasonable restrictions. The Blue Ribbon Coalition fights this lock-up of public lands and recreation areas. Members of the BlueRibbon Coalition - recreationists, ranchers, loggers, miners, and small communities - have joined together to fight the attacks on our sports and responsible use of resources. Through our Organization membership we are able to offer individual memberships to our forum members at a discounted rate (half price) for the first year. It's only $10 the first year and $20 per year after that. A small price to pay to fund such a great organization. To help perpetuate our interests in OHV recreation, please consider a Blue Ribbon Coalition associate membership. See the Blue Ribbon Coalition site for more information.
Housekeeping In our June installment, there were a number of issues listed that we have been working on to resolve. Some have been completed, some are in the works, while some are just quirks in the software that we won't be able to change until there's a compatible new verion of our forum and bridge software available. Please know that we are always trying to enhance your experience at UltimateYota and that all requests are considered (some only for a fleeting moment, but they are considered all the same :D)
