Before the 4runner, I have been driving small fast little cars like bmw 5 series or upgraded Hondas.  I was ready for something to be able to handle the space for my snow-board equipment and longer road trips.  I was somewhat niaveï in my purchase but I did know what a 4wd interior looked like with the pistol grip shifter and 4wd shifter.  However when I bought the current 4runner I have now, it was my first car and I didn’t know if I would have been approved at the other dealerships.  So I took the truck and ran.   Since then I built it up with more naivety and it was ready to crawl, but the problem is, it was 2wd still.  I did what I can with a locked 2wd until I found out about the inchworm lefty and the prerunner adapters which would keep my transmission in place.  I started the conversion in late august and it finished in September for the transfer case step of it. I finished the entire conversion around October and compressor installs by the end of October.  This truck went from being 2wd locked to what I really wanted it be in the end with a 5:1 transfer case and front and rear lockers.  I may never really use the potential of it.  But in case I'm in a sticky situation, I know I have some accessories to help me out.  I’ll keep this truck for 30 years if need be, every 400k miles, ill drop a new engine and tranny in.  That’s how much I love my truck.
