"Tankota"
Hover over the image for navigation controls to appear. Zachary is a born and raised San Diegain, and a dedicated Toyota four-wheeler. He learned to love camping at an early age and grew especially fond of the so-cal deserts. The only thing that was missing from these early campouts was the freedom to drive through and explore deserted canyons and empty wash roads of the desert back country.
After digging his dads old 2wd ¾ ton Chevy out of the sand many times, he swore he was going buy a 4x4 for his first vehicle. In summer 2004 he saw an ad for a 1981 Toyota longbed 4wd. For a grand total of $600 the machine was his, and the rest is history!
Mechanics have always been in Zachary's blood and he is currently a HD diesel truck technician, working mostly on semi tractors and other diesel rigs. To date he has performed all the work on Tankota, including the recently rebuilt engine. He also thoroughly enjoys rock-climbing, hiking and backpacking with his sweetheart Heidi. High mountains are one more thing that Zachary can never get enough of. Other interests include guns, hunting, playing guitar, acquiring and working on endless basket-case projects with his brothers, and just about anything that has to do with being outside. UltimateYota has been an awesome community to be part of. From many wheeling trips with the so-cal group, and tapping into its vast knowledge base, it is the perfect home for a Toyota 4x4 enthusiast.
