Chris was born and raised on the Central Coast of CA, where he grew up camping and enjoying the outdoors. He went on many family road trips where his Dad could not pass up any dirt road - they came to be known as "Stover shortcuts". Two trips in particular got Chris hooked on four wheeling. One was in Sedona where they followed a pink jeep tour in their stock Isuzu Trooper, the other was driving the trails between Silverton and Ouray, CO in their stock GMC Suburban. After high school, he joined the Marines, and spent four years offroading in Amphibious Assault Vehicles which are the ultimate all-terrain vehicle. After the Marines, he worked a ski season at June Mtn, Ca driving a SnowCat grooming the runs in the middle of the night. Needless to say, he has a desire to drive terrain that wasn't meant to be driven. He is now happily married to his wife April with a wonderful son (Jackson) and daughter (Adelaide). He is currently a self-employed Tile Contractor. He had always wanted a 1st gen 4runner since high school, but chose a '93 4runner as his first family car. He was hooked on Toyotas from day 1. He now have (3) 4wd toyotas, the 4runner is his toy, the wife has an '07 Tacoma Dcab TRD as the family car, and the newest member, a '89 4wd Van is his daily driver work vehicle and weekend play toy. Chris mentions that he never owned a more versatile vehicle that is so much fun to drive as the van.
