Just picked up a 2013 4Runner and wondering what are some good mods?
Holy blast from the past! :) Welcome back Tom!
Depends... whatcha want to do? The sky's the limit on the mod front. There's so much to mod with this 4runner I think you can pretty much add every bolt on product and be built pretty quickly.
lift, tires, bumpers, skid, sliders I think are all production pieces ready to go. scary eh!
We literally just picked one up yesterday, traded in the sequoia. Don't think I'll really be modding anything anytime soon, I just wanted to see if I would get anyone calling me out for a newbie question. :)
WB! Congrats on the new 'Runner.
Now go do 4 laps around the block for the n00b question...
Awesome! It's nice to have someone with a 5th gen on the forum! Welcome back!
I think the first thing I will need to figure out is if, when I put foam pads on the crossbars, I have enough height to clear the fin antenna when we put SUP boards on the roof. If not, that may be my first mod...
I'd love to put a toytec lift on it and pick it up a little bit, but at that point I'd need running boards or sliders so the kids could get in and out. I'm sure I wouldn't have the CFO's permission for any of that yet though.
Well, you did commit the ultimate noob mistake, which is not posting pictures of the new truck!
What's up Tom? How is everything?
I think the color is magnetic grey metallic, basically charcoal. Limited w/black leather and the sliding cargo deck. Got the dealer to throw in mud flaps, rack cross bars and the shiny exhaust tip. :)
For a long time I didn't like the 5th gen - thought it was too boxy and the bulging lights bugged me. For a while I tried to find a low mileage 2009 but just couldn't. In the mean time, the 5th gen started to grow on me.

sexy lookin thing! so how does fitting the precious passengers and extra cargo work out for ya compared to the sequoia?
