Funny thing is whether I'm in front of my desk working on my laptop or in the garage making a mess, I can't wear anything or else I'll scratch it all up. Sadly I have to be jewelry-free when working in any environment so I end up using the iPhone to keep track of time. Go figure.
Other than that, the watches come in handy when I'm out and about farting around. :) Not that it really matters what time of day it is since almost everything around us has a clock somewhere. lol just feels good having something on my wrist.
Not surprising to see G-Shocks here. Seems like a theme across the community as a whole. The nicer gps devices are pretty cool but also expensive (eek!). It's a boys dream but with all of the technology around us I'm always worrisome that it'll get outdated faster than a good time piece.
Curious, does anyone have one of those chain watches? thought I might see a few from this group!

I got an old g-shock somewhere, battery died tho. Dang things are BIG too tho.

I've posted this before, but this is my Alba that my father in law got for me. I actually don't know much about it, but it's my dress watch.

For every day use, I've got a casio pathfinder because I have absolutely no sense of direction when it comes to N, E, S, W. And it looks huge on my twig-like arms.

Anyone here interested in this watch?

Price drop Lance. $100 shipped if you want it. Only having 2 wrists I kind of have too many watches. I'm one to think it's too hard to have too much of something but I only need so many.
Having said that here are two new ones I've gotten in the past few months. I'm not a watch freak and in fact I hadn't bought a watch in awhile. This thread is just making me look bad. Good thing they are all black and have black faces otherwise my wife would be a little suspicious.
First off is a simple Rip Curl watch. All it does is tell the time, novel idea, and is one of my lower profile watches. It's kind of hard to see but it's got a black anodized/darker gun metal bezel and body. Black face with light gray hands and numbers. The hands and numbers glow but not as much as the yellow electro luminescence. The band is wide and really comfortable.

Second is a watch I've wanted for awhile. It's the reason the 5.11 watch is for sale. It's the Suunto Core Black Military.

It's got a barometer, temperature sensor and compass so it's able to do a lot of things. The barometer measures and stores pressure data. You can also 'log' your movement/trip/flight/dive/hike and it will keep track of your elevation, pressure changes, temp and rate of ascending and descending. The pressure sensor can also alert you of an incoming storm which is helpful at elevation.
The compass feature is just like the 5.11 watch but the Core will lock your bearing which is great for navigating, hiking and orienteering. On recent hikes I've brought along paper maps to show my daughter where we are and how to read them. She can learn about GPS at school.
The watch does a bunch of other things but Suunto does a better job at listing them.
