Going to hit up the Mountain Rendezvous this year. It's a bit closer to home. We are planning to make the Turf & Surf though if any of you plan to be there.

My wife is due a few weeks after that so I will be on lock down for a few months.

So we can't make it, my cousin is getting married this weekend. There is like some sort of conspiracy keeping me from this event!

I do believe, however, I can make the Turf&Surf. If anyone from...

This is a snow melt pond just before the overlook where the previous picture was taken. There are sand dunes up here which you can play in if you can coax enough HP out of your engine at this...

Keeping an eye on this. Last summer we did a trip with the Hummer crowd up the east Sierra's out of Bishop one day and the Sierras west of Bishop through Rovana the next day. It was an outstanding...

I hope I can finally make it this year. My truck is running well so that's a plus!

Since the Turf and Surf last year my toddler asks to go back to Pismo about 2X/week. He wants the cruiser to...

Great trip report. I hope to get back up that way one of these years.

  9. Re: 2nd Annual Mojave Road Expedition planning thread

I don't know enough about the area to add any specifics. Hikes are always fun 'cause it's nice to get out of the truck. Routes that let folks leave or join can add some flexibility.

    I'd say do...
  10. Re: "Desert Jamboree" Planning Thread - Please Help!

Good points about the number of people. Since this is geared more towards an event than an informal gathering of vehicles you would need to worry about permits and camping facilities.

    Otherwise if...

    Re: 2012 pismo jamboree dates???

Well friends we can't make it. My brother in law's bachelor party popped up that weekend and we are surf camping somewhere around Dana Point. Sucks but I can't blow off family.

  12. Re: "Desert Jamboree" Planning Thread - Please Help!

    My input.

First, do not limit the group to 15 trucks. The best way to make sure your event has minimal impact is to restrict rigs to a group that small. In fact, given the site activity I'd...

    1. Why did you sign up in the first place?
    - Definitely due to the first Pismo Jamboree I attended. It was the people that made this forum stand out. Not to knock the folks on other forums but this...

    Re: 2012 pismo jamboree dates???

We have it on the calendar. As with every yota wheeling trip if the cruiser is under repair we will just take the Hummer. Part of happy cruiser ownership is having a back up 4X4. :)

    Re: PAGING EVERYONE

Trips are a good thing to get some activity.

From a tech side many sites have done a great job vetting all sorts of modifications and issues to the point it's hard to ask a question that has never...

I now have absolutely no excuse to miss another jambo. We plan to be there also with a dog and little one in tow.

    Re: PAGING EVERYONE

That H3 is one hell of a truck. It's all truck in fact. It's works so darn well I needed to get a vehicle that needed me so I got the 60. It has the dual lockers and 4:1 t-case gears so with the...

    Re: PAGING EVERYONE

Kill switch is on the list. I don't drive it much yet and it spends most of it's time in the back yard but that feature is coming. I have already been the victim of truck theft twice.

    Re: PAGING EVERYONE

Well a few things have kept be busy over the last three years. In March of 08 we moved to the midwest in persuit of gainful employment. My job had me traveling like crazy. When I was on the forums I...
  22. Re: 2011 Pismo Jamboree (Sept. 24th and 25th, 2011)

Things weren't going so well at the job at Argonne. I got an offer in Poway with a startup and figured what the heck, why not give it try.

I have some frame braces that are unfinished and could...
  23. Re: 2011 Pismo Jamboree (Sept. 24th and 25th, 2011)

I think we will be there now that we have relocated back to San Diego. Right now it would be me, Claire, Daniel, and our dog Ginger in an 85 FJ-60. I might bring the H3 too so we can actually have...
  24. Re: 8th Annual 2010 Pismo Jamboree Sept. 24-26, 2010

Once again I have to travel for work so Pismo again. Plus, the 4runner blew a head gasket in the middle of no where on its way back to Chicago from San Diego a few weeks ago and severely drained my...
  25. Re: 8th Annual 2010 Pismo Jamboree Sept. 24-26, 2010

We will definitely try. I was going to drive the 4runner back to Chicago in July and SAS it so if I do we will likely need to see if someone has two extra seats but those bridges can be crossed at a...
