Excellent to hear MTL. Does it get any better than tooling around in the 4runner in the snow. Sometimes the wife asks me where I went after snow blowing and moving the cars around....
I think you have to be careful on this one because many of the grounds I have seen are curved, to match the electrode, and cannot be properly gapped by just sliding a straight metal gauge in there. I...
So...is a one click and no start more symptomatic of the solenoid contacts?
Had a one clicker a ffew months back and ordered the contacts but no symptoms since...until this AM. Tried to start it 4...
Ouch - $470!? That is a tough nut for a relatively easy job with a cheap parts list. That is the reason I DIY.
Glad you got it fixed though...
I had heard that about the Optimas. If the battery is dead then this all makes sense. Get the battery tested or throw a charger on it and see if it holds a charge.
I bet the squeak is the Sway bar bushings. Slide under and have someone puch down on the hood to eliminate that one.
All of mine were fine at 125K
You may consider this part of the hoses mentiones but replacing the clamps at the same is a good idea. In addition, I had the small hose off the thermostat housing / WP leak after I did mine. Change...
Just in case anyone cares or searches...
This aftermarket, and others from what I hear, I designed to go on the right rear side of the vehicle, as opposed to the stock unit. I can only assume that...
Good job Elton. Did you happen to whack that bolt out with a hammer b/c mayb it was just the first thread? Anyway, last thing you needed to do was go buy a tap set. I have cleaned some up with a file...

My first read - toward the end it sounded like he was covering with carpet and not compressing the spring - Just letting it fly. Reread indicates a spring compressor. Just not sure why...
How the hell did you get the spring compressed and back on then??
I have already NEEDED a 14mm, 12mm and 19mm ratcheting wrench. I should have bought the entire set the first time.
Been there and it was a total clusterfook. Ended up using multiple tiny carbide bits (broke a few) to drill out tiny bits around it. Talk about patience.
Add to #1 - Tapping the offending part...
I saw something at an Autozone recently that was an actual MAF sensor cleaner. Maybe it was at NAPA...but dont remember the brand.
Just b/c they used the haweka doesnt necessarily mean that the tires are now balanced properly. Town Fair Tire did mine with the Haweka twice and did not get it right. All they did was throw a bunch...

Should the cams for adjusting Caster be in relatively same position - for the left and right wheel. Or is they totally independent of one another.
Well, I finally ordered my Converter from etrailer. I had the cheap converter and was just going to wire it in but decided to order a new one and use the other for my van.
Install went pretty...
I just did my rack bushings (130k) and even though I did not have as much movement in the rack as others, it made a tremendous difference. I am pretty mechanically inclined and it took me a few hours...
100k seems like a good time to do the following if they have never been done..
Brake Fluid flush
Bushing change out - sway bar, endlink, and steering rack. If I had read up on the steering rack...
I use 75k as a general rule - that is so I do it by the time I hit 80 or 85k. They wear out after a while and you do not really notice it til they are bad or you just install new ones.
Just installed a NAPA Heavy Duty (Hayden) cooler today. COuld have used more hose but other than that it was pretty quick and easy.
