i'm with these guys, brian. banging it back doesn't fix it. just cut that trouble area of the skid.
yeah... so it has been a long time since i first posted up about my truck being sas'ed. i have since put the dual cases in, made the 12" travel front drive shaft, shortened the rear shaft, rerouted...
just figured it out... assuming the w56 and the w59 tranny's have the same ratio...

forgot to post up the outcome. the center part of the friction disc separated from the rest of the disc. not sure how in the hell that happened, but that is what it was. it now has a marlin clutch...
you can buy anything you want seperately. i pieced my lift together when i first did it. now i am selling it all off as fronts and then as rears. the cheapest i have ever found for new parts is...
i know this isn't the classifieds, but i have a set of the ome 891's and shocks to go with them. springs have about 50k on them, shocks about 20k. i could let them go for 150 plus shipping.

so i am sad to announce that i got stranded last night on the highway. i was just getting on to the highway, shifting in to 3rd (no more than 3500rpm at the time), and i heard a ruckus, felt a...
can someone confirm the different flanges on the 4 vs. 6? if they are the same, i have 2 spares right now, brian, of which i won't need once the dual cases go in. give me the $50 i picked each up for...
2 low mod only works on vehicles set-up with push button T-case, if you have a shifter to put it into the low range the mod don't work. The later model 3rd gens have a totally different set-up. The...
i believe you are incorrect, bruce. i thought you could do it on the later model 3rd gen 4runners, but that you have to disable the vtrac first. i know lee looked in to this a while back, but i don't...
he can have that with ADD if the did the 20/30 minute wiring for the 2-lo mod.
that is perhaps the funniest thing i have heard yet today. HAHAHAHA!
you guys didn't mention that with manual hubs, you can daily drive a vehicle that is locked front and rear with no signs of such until you lock the hubs. this is huge should someone want to run a...
thanks guys. i appreciate you confirming i was not insane. haha! i was sort of wondering how i read so much wrong information on another site and how everyone else i have spoken to have said the same...
that is interesting then. the last time i had the same noise, it was the same way. i could have sworn i was told on "another" forum it was the throwout. regardless, neither is getting swapped until i...
if it is the pilot bearing, i am not going to be swapping that out until the next time i do a clutch. i am 99% sure it is the throwout bearing though because it goes away by stepping on the clutch.
i didn't change the tranny out when sas'ing. i have the original tranny from the truck that i may just slap back in when i do the dual cases i suppose. the one that is in it now is cody's old one...
well, here is my junk. started off in the first picture a few years ago, and as of today, it looks like the last few. everything is still too new to have wheeling pics, but it is all breaking in and...
hey guys...
1998 4runner, 3rz, 5spd, 200k miles, newly sas'ed.
problem is that after the sas, with the rear end in the air and the tranny in neutral, the rear wheels still have power to them....
