Yep, I'll either go that size next or 285/75...still haven't decided if I want to be practical or not.

Re: Yay or Nay on these rims

I've run spacers in the past to get factory rims + 255/85's flush with tacoma flares. No issues running them, but did notice a diminished turning radius.

I did consider doing this as well with the...

Re: Yay or Nay on these rims

Nay to both. Both rims have a 5.25" BS, meaning they will be sucked in on your limited flares. I've had the taco TRD rims on my 4runner before and eventually swapped them out for LC rims.

    Don't...

    Re: Seanz0rz's rear bumper buildup

Nice work! I started my bruce-styled bumper the other day. Worth the effort, your take on it turned out well :).

One question..I know you can use the tow hitch to mark the holes on the brackets,...

    Re: Land Cruiser Rims

2 of my LC rims are the acorn style and 2 are the shank style, they both fit. '96 should be the shank style just for reference, earlier years were the acorn. I sold a set of LC rims earlier and the...

I hear ya on that point. From what i've read they are slow but reliable. One website was selling the xrc8 with synthetic line for $399; that's just nuts! I'll probably still pick up the summit 9k...

    Re: CYi5's 1999 4Runner

Demello sliders and limited flares don't mix, fyi. A good amount of the inner plastic molding had to be shaved down, leaving a cavity which would fill with water/dirt. I filled these guys with...

Re: Let's see those Xmas presents !!

Demello Sliders, ARB Tire Repair kit, and metric ratcheting wrenches. And $$ :).

The ARB Tire repair kit is really great quality, I was impressed. I'd recommend it for the $38 it costs.

    Re: Rear cargo net

I looked into those and thought about making my own. There isn't a great upper mounting point inline with the seats is the problem. Sooo that would require drilling and I lost interest at that point....

Spent my day off making a little addition to the ARB. Since removing the limited bumper and associated fog lights I've missed that close up light on the road. I also don't like having a useless...

Thanks for the comments RMP&O. Here are the final shots of the wheel project and pictures of the 235/85's on 16x8's for those that are interested. It does look a little 'froggy style' or 'hawaiian...

Re: Nikon D40: good for my needs?

If you want your lenses to auto focus on the D40, they must be AF-S (motor is inside the lens.) To keep the cost of the D40 down there is no motor inside the camera. This isn't a huge problem,...

    Re: Bullfrog Tomarrow(11-29-09)

Google shows lots of rocks, I'd be interested in attempting it if I had sliders. From what I can tell "it's a jeep thing." I can't find many IFS pics.

Just put in a 24" magnaflow muffler p/n 12286. There's another guy who put a walker muffler on to replace stock here on ultimateyota.

Re: Vision X Solstice Solo s1100 LED

The plastic mounts for the spoiler may actually be hollow. Perhaps you could drill a hole into that and maybe into the door behind the spoiler mount and go in through there.

I'd get it as flat as possible and then weld angle on the back as you suggested. I've seen a few DIYers do this.
