get some 4.88's and go up to 315's. i had that setup..pulled our tent trailer with ease. if youre going to be pulling a heavier trailer...it will definitely help.

smart move. its hard to get rid of a black built 4runner...
the 1HDT found in the 80 series cruisers here can EASILY average 22~27 combined mpg. for a 5000lb all wheel drive beast...thats pretty damn good.

X2 on what bruce said. they're awesome in dry rock, ok in mud, not so great in snow. great for a DD tire...its what i had on both my old runners. they wear great..and the sidewall protection cant be...
you'll be good to go with 4.25 & shaved arms on an 8" rim with 315's. the lower then #, the more they stick out.
...dont forget to regear once you go 315's!

315 MT/R's look badass on a black 3rd gen. 1/2" spacers wont be enough to clear the front. go with at least an inch. if its your DD/hwy cruiser...you'll probably want to rethink not regearing though,...

was trying to figure out why your backing plates are so visible. are you running spacers in the back? try taking those out. the rears should be able to tuck inside the wells...even with non ltd's....

my 315's rub the gas tank filler neck, as well as the leading/trailing corner pieces of the wheel well, and bumper flare piece. only on full stuff though. still use oem bump stops.
