There's a grommet for the brake light. Use that. Easier, won't wear with the rear door, and it's an easy run up the side panel and into the middle of cab for your cb.

Take a look at your ball joints. It's pretty nasty if those break. Especially the lower ones. Camelback toyota is an amazing discount source for oem parts. I use them almost exclusively. Good prices...
