Re: Veronica gets new facelift, the runner SAS plans

    Good luck on your build.
If your gonna do an expedition rig, know that you will be packing a lot of weight. So, I would at the very least get the Diamond Axles, or a Rear 60 Full Float. I wanted the...

I found a commuter car that gets 41mpg city/hwy. Much better than the 4Runner's mpg. :)

    Re: Farmington Extreme

Thanks Crux, it was loads of fun. As for the exo-cage, naw, too much metal and too much weight. If I want to do the really ugly stuff, like Heldorado in Moab, I'll build a buggy. For now, I'm going...

    Re: Farmington Extreme

    Thanks Cleansr5.

I just updated the Garage folder to show how the rig handles on the highway. I get quite a few questions about how this handles on the road, such as wandering, shimmy, etc. So, I...

Re: Operation: Bullet Proof Rear Axle

If you really are running 39.5" Iroks, then a D60 is in order. But, after putting so much money into the rear 3rd, why would you put more into D60 axles?

I'm sure that D60 will look great with 34.5" tires on it.

Re: Operation: Bullet Proof Rear Axle

I wouldn't go D60. Rather, a Ford 9" has plenty of beef, and you can get it with a high pinion setup and disc brakes.

    Re: Farmington Extreme

Yeah, its was pretty steep. That was the steepest I have ever been in the 4Runner. When I get around posting my pictures, you can really see how steep it is. Pretty wild ride. You won't see many 3rd...

    Farmington Extreme

Went to Farmington this past weekend to run with the local TTORA guys. I ran a couple of extreme trails to make sure we could do them when the TTORA takeover came around.

    I don't have any pics...

Re: SteveO's 4Runner has been Slammed!

Oh Yeah, forgot one thing. This run was sort of a shake down for the new fender trimming of the wheel wells and the fender flares at this new low height.

    They worked beautifully!

I'd say buggy it. You already have a great street rig that can handle plenty of trails. But, you know you will want to push the limits of this thing and see what it can really do on the nasty trails....

Raising the gas tank is a major PITN.
There is a crossbar that the fill tube for the gas tank goes over.
