    Looking for a W56 for a 88' 4Runner 22re. I believe the exact model is W56-B. Prefer lower miles.

    Re: Bad shake/shimmy above 60mph

    Hey Cheese,

My last post was just to close out the thread, but I'll give you some more details about what really happened:

The tires apparently had a bad wear pattern (most likely from the guy...

    Re: Bad shake/shimmy above 60mph

So I went back to NTB and found their best tech and had him do my tires again. Ended up they just needed the expert touch and now they ride pretty well on the highway!

    Re: Bad shake/shimmy above 60mph

Thanks Chris, you're a real pal! I'll take you up on that next week. For now I'm just going to keep it at 60mph on the interstate.

    Re: Bad shake/shimmy above 60mph

That's a good idea, Lance. I will have to try that soon. The thing is though, I had the tires rotated and balanced, and then had them rebalanced. So I think that they are balanced correctly...

    Re: Bad shake/shimmy above 60mph

Well... I just had the tires balanced twice by NTB, whom I trust. So my feeling is that it's not the tires.

    Bad shake/shimmy above 60mph

    Hey guys,

So a couple of weeks ago I went to get my tires rotated and balances just routinely. I looked at the truck up on the lift and noticed that the idler arm had some play in it (TRW from...

Re: 1st gen 4-banger to V6 tranny swap!

Well guys, I sent an email to Bud from Budbuilt, and his experience tells him that this swap is far more involved that I was thinking. I guess that's it then :)

Has anyone had experience using the...

Re: 1st gen 4-banger to V6 tranny swap!

Yeah I see what you mean, but realize I am a GA Tech student... if it's not overbuilt, it's not built right!

And I'm getting a pretty good deal on this new(er) tranny. If it's not hard to make it...

    1st gen 4-banger to V6 tranny swap!

    Hi guys,

My 1st gen, 22re 5spd has already received a new engine and the transmission is beginning to get just a little bit noisy. Still works fine, but with 250k+ miles the gears whine sometimes...
  16. Re: 89 Pickup 22RE, How do I drop the oil pan!!

Yes, the third member has 6 bolts on each side to the CVs, two bolts that go straight up into the truck, and one long horizontal one that is on that crossmember.

You can take it off without moving...
  17. Re: Fini's Mountain, Westfield, MA...and my first flop.

Really Heath, you don't give your 4Runner nearly enough attention. It obviously just wanted it's belly rubbed!!!
  18. Re: 89 Pickup 22RE, How do I drop the oil pan!!

Would dropping the entire third member (front differential) help?

  20. Re: What is the advantage to a solid axle over IFS or

I'm glad you're asking this question on this forum and not on Pirate4x4.

    It's pretty much like this:
    1) Straight axles are easier to lift
    2) Straight axles are stronger
    3) Straight axles allow...

Re: Greasing drive shafts in Tacos question

I would think that the necessity of that sort of maintenance is dependent on how critical of conditions your truck sees. Dust, mud, water, hard flexing, etc.

    63" Chevies spring swap
