MPG wise, at 100% stock, you're at ~17 highway. That's keeping it at 65-70MPH. I was getting 21 with the 4Runner (V6, auto) just for frame of reference. So it's not that great, but not horrible. With...

Looks great. I've had mine for 3.5 years. Miss the 4Runner/Taco at times, but the plushness soothes all of that away. I've got 33's, but need to call up Slee for sliders, bumper(s), roofrack, etc.
A rack isn't going to affect the MPG that much if you're just driving around the city. There is no noticeable difference with my Yakima rack on and off.
Also, "city driving" can be all over the...
Why not go aftermarket? I'm sure a local metal fab guy can whip up a tube style bumper for a reasonable cost.
Should've waited a few months! :D I did a full suspension replacement outside a few years ago in 10 degree weather. Not fun.
Anyway, awesome write up. Thanks!
You can fit 32's in there.
And maybe I missed it, but didn't you have a 91 pick up or something? What happened to that project?
There's definitely something wrong. I've got 32's and I took a 2MPG hit, but it's still at 19-20MPG on the freeway and ~16MPG around town. I am at a higher elevation, so that help my MPG, but yours...
DRL was optional in 2001-2002, not sure about 2003-2004. I do know that 2003-2004 is DBW (Drive by Wire). ABS was optional and I am glad that mine does NOT have ABS. :D
What happened to the 2002?...
I'm not sure about the T100's, but the Tacoma frames were made by Dana Corp. and did not get treated with rust proofing material that all of the other frames get treated with. This is why the frames...
The word now is that some 01-02’s are getting the same treatment as the 95-00’s (meaning crusher). They’re saying it depends on whether it’s worth it for them to replace the frame or not, so...
I had this same problem on my old 98 4Runner. I also experienced almost a death-wobble-like shake at speeds above 40mph if I hit a little bump on the road. Could this also be the cause of that?
I believe they all get that door jamb label with the 225/75/15 on there as a default. But mostly all V6's get the upgrade to 265/70/16 from the factory, as well as the bigger rotors and calipers....
Got the flush done today at the Toyota dealership. $145. I think I will drain and fill every other oil change to keep it refreshed (this is what I gathered from some older threads). Now, I gotta...
Well, I am going to have my local Toyota dealership do it. I read the tutorial on the Amsoil site about doing it yourself, but I figured it would be better to have those guys do it. They are doing it...
Figured this would be considered a "Newbie" question. :D
Ok, I bought my truck with 102k on the clock. The previous (and original) owner has not ever changed out the fluid. :shake: What is the...
That sucks. Do you know how they re-arched the springs? Cold press or did they heat it up? I've heard of people having troubles with re-arched springs using a cold-press.
That's what I was afraid of. I guess there is ONE advantage snowboarding has to skiing. :D
slosurfer - Thanks for the input. Had the Denali's been a bit cheaper at REI, I would've probably bought it that day. But I really couldn't pass on the $72 + $10 shipping for the Tubbs.
There is...
I just ordered Tubbs Sojourn 25" from REI. $82 shipped to my door! Couldn't pass up that deal.
I went snowmobiling last weekend, too. I suck at it, though. My back is still sore from digging...
Thanks for all the inputs, everyone. I found some Tubbs Venture snowshoes for $152 shipped at Amazon. I went to REI and they had some MSR's and Atlas. MSR's were nice, because you can add either a 4"...
I'm interested in purchasing some snowshoes. Main purposes for this is 1) back country skiing (nothing extreme. Very mild grade runs) 2) Casual hiking.
I usually hike in soft powder, so something...
Why didn't you turn the temp knob to cold? There will always be a bit of flow into the cabin even with the vent closed.
I wish it had a timing chain.
Ha ha! A Campbell soup can... Mmm mmm, Good!!!
cplvc, maybe you should try it with an upopened can next time! More sturdy. Oh, wait, nevermind. I've heard chicken broth and noodles aren't...
