Just learned about this one from a friend. I was looking at the britek ceribus, but delorme seems to have made something better for alot less money. You guys probably have already heard of it but I think its worth it over the SPOT so long as the prices don't change. It has alot of mapping functions ala-delorme that I wouldn't want but they actually seem fairly good.

-a bit more then SPOT for the hardware and subscription.
-2way texting with your smart phone
-has stand alone buttons for preset texts, tracking breadcrumb and SOS

-battery life isnt supposed to be too great compared to the SPOT
-Some reports of not getting txt replies.

I figure the 2 way txt feature is what sells this. If I was a hiker it wouldn't be that important but with 4x4 there are a lot more scenarios that dont involve calling in the cavalry.
