Thread: Re-building/Repairing a TJM Bumper

    Re: Re-building/Repairing a TJM Bumper

The time has come that I need to drive again so the bumper had to be painted and put on. I've gone through 2 cans of primer, and about 5 cans of paint (so far).

The paint was still a little soft so I have some touch up to do but it's on and looks better than half painted. Once it dries and cures I'll be able to align it as well. Right now it only has half the bolts and is cockeyed.

It appears I'm done for the time being. Paint needs a little touching up here and there. The whole bumper also needs to be moved towards the drivers side and down. I also need to clean and straighten out my license plate as it looks a little out of place next to new paint.

Very nice work Mike! How does the front suspension sit now with the extra weight? Although, you did say the stocker was heavy, so is it even effected?

I'll have to look up my front measurements and measure again but I don't notice much if any change. The ride is the same as well.

Yep it's still up. I'm not really sure which piece of the middle section is tweaked but I'm hoping to level it out soon. I think I may alter the mounting holes a bit, crank down one side, tweak it and crank down the other side.

For the most part it looks good from far. Thanks guys.
