Her old DD was a '00 Ford Ranger Ex Cab Step side Sport. (4cyl 5 speed) Needless to say she is LOVING the FJ80.

Thanks Sean, I snagged all the FSM's from the NCTTORA site archive before it got wiped out after they had to pull them all down because of Cease and Desist letter. but they only had a wiring diagram for FJ80's - no Actual FSM. If you come up with anything, let me know.

Dang son, starting up a collection now I see.

Any reason you chose an 80 over say a Sequoia?

*Keep an eye on that radiator, when the top caps start going that shade/color is usually when they will crack and leak within the next 12-18 months.

Thanks! We are loving it! Its got a few issues to take care of, but nothing you wouldn't expect from a 16 year old vehicle.

I love collecting things! Especially Toyota's.
WE just love the look of the 80 series, I have lusted after them for quite some time, and Mrs. Rocko recently decided that she wanted one, so we got on the hunt.

Will do. Planning on doing some maintenance stuff to it, will add radiator to the list before long.

Just an update, noticed the other day that it was quite noisy when she was backing out of the driveway to head to work, I asked her about it "Oh, its been that way"

I checked it out when she got home, and the fan clutch is TOAST!
Looks like a bearing let go, and the whole shaft shifted over sideways inside the clutch, and was making the fan off balance, and had the clutch in full lockup all the time, really noisy!

Anyway, a new upgraded Aisin blue shaft fan clutch and we are back in business.

It still has a relatively serious oil leak somewhere on the bottom end, and I think its time for a headgasket. Antifreeze looks dark and a little milky.... uh oh.

There is another thread around here somewhere about this, but this gor wrecked and totaled in the Southeastern Snowpocalypse last winter, so we are on the hunt for another one.

We debated back and forth on buying this one back, and salvaging what we could and scrapping the rest, or wheeling it, but it was in relatively bad shape (was hit pretty hard by an F450 service truck)

Hopefully updates coming soon. This time we are looking more at Lexus LX450's in a hope to get a slightly nicer shape interior.

Wow…bummer Chris. Sorry to hear about the 80 series being toast. Hopefully you all can find a nice replacement.
