    Share your watch collection

I'm not a big watch collector but I do admire some cool casual, elegant and some sporty outdoor watches. If funds permitted I'd probably pick a few other cool watches to add to my collection.

    Here's my current collection:

My daily wear watch... (good for the grocery getter activities!)

    Marathon Diver's Automatic

Wasn't a big fan of the rubber strap so I went with their stainless steel.

    sexy ain't it!

My outdoor / camping / traveling watch...

    Casio Pathfinder PAW5000-1

featuring a Maratac Mil-Nato Desert Sand (aka Cayote Brown / Tan) Band.

and finally my formal wear watch... (which rarely sees the light of day or night)

Omega De Ville Prestige Quartz (matching his and hers)

    Whatcha all pimping these days?

Have you guy seen the new Garmin fenix watch?

    way cool...

I've always worn a watch. Even pictures of me when I was in elementary school have me with a watch. I have a few co-workers and a few friends that poke fun of me because they say watches are old school especially in an era where a smart phone is used for everything including telling you the time.

Currently I've got a few watches that are in the rotation and get worn everyday.

First is a 5.11 Tactical Field Ops http://www.511tactical.com/All-Produ...ew-Design.html

It's a good watch and comfortable to wear. I don't have large arms or wrists but I do like larger watches like this 5.11. It's got some cool features like the compass as well as useless features like the sure shot calculator. If you're such an advanced shooter that you need to know bullet drop and correction you should know your equipment and not need to get it from a wrist watch. Not to mention the calculator needs air temp which is not a feature on the watch (but would be nice). My biggest two gripes with the watch is that it does not display the time and date (day number) at the same time, even a $15 Casio does this. And two, the count down timer beeps every minute it counts down. It's a nice reminder but if you've got a 15 minute timer going you have to listen to it beep every minute which is a bit annoying.

Another watch is a Casio G Shock DW6900MS-1. It took is large and a bit bulkier than the 5.11 but I don't notice it any more than a low profile time piece.

It tells me everything I need to know at one glance unlike the 5.11. It's edges aren't as smooth as the 5.11 but the band is narrower and comfortable.

I also have a large face Swiss Army watch but can't find it online. It must be a discontinued model. It's run of the mill, anolog, dates, glow in the dark. It's my most low profile watch so I tend to wear it when I wear long sleeved shirts as it fits under the cuff easier.

As for the Garmin watch, yes those are cool. I have a Garmin Edge 500 that I use daily for my bike and they are great products and all the collected data is fun to analyze.

Thanks a lot Lance, you have me wanting to go watch shopping.

I'm like you Mike, been wearing one since I was a kid. I feel very naked without it!

I rock the G-Shock GW530A 24 hours a day, basically only take it off when I am washing my hands or working on the car.

The anthracite surround even matches my black tungsten carbide wedding ring!

My "dress" watch is a 10 year old Fossil blue line. Titanium band and case, big blue-turquoise dial. Actually a pretty nice watch for the 80 I paid for it back in the day. Still keeps great time, and I really only wear it a few times a year.

I don't think I will ever give up my wrist watch. Beyond the time telling function, if I backhand someone with my left hand, I usually use my watch instead of my hand. Then I get to use some cool catch phrase like "It's smackin' time" or "You want some seconds?"

I have this Swiss Army watch:

    but LOVE this one:

^^I think I love that second one because it reminds me of the Aston Martin gauges. Lame, I know.

    watch? watch? Whats that lol..

I dont wear one, when you wrench day in and out you tend to not want to get it stuck on something and tear your hands off. Same for jewelery.

I worked in a bike and ski shop for 9 years and always took my watch and then ring off at work. For one I didn't want to mess it up and two I didn't want to loose a hand or something. As it was I just about lost my thumb in a self induced accident at work.

I'm a desk jockey now so I really only take stuff off when working in the garage on a vehicle or welding. Even through a glove my tungsten ring conducts heat like no other. I've seen pictures of guys with slag stuck to their ring and the accompanying burn.

I'd rather hack up my hands and arms than an expensive watch.

    Mike, you have no idea!

I only wear my wedding ring out. Being harder than almost everything (I think only diamond and a few other alloys are harder) it scratches EVERYTHING it touches. Car doors, my desk, etc.

The last nicer watch I had was a nice titanium fossil. After breaking the face 2x and almost burning my hand on a car I havent worn it since. Actually the battery died and the face is still busted and its been like 7 years lol.

I remember years ago my dad was hell bent on my buying me a super nice watch and ring for grad HS. I kept trying to tell him I dont like fancy stuff and it would just collect dust in a drawer. Well he got the ring anyways, I think Ive worn it like 5x in about 15 years..

My grandfather always wore his wedding band on a gold necklace too, wanted to make sure he kept his finger!
