Thread: 20130516-19 The whole bernadino

It was a lot of paying attention out there! The only other multiday trip I've done was the Mojave road where you only have to watch for whoops and can really relax. This run was alot of staying on the right line even for my truck. That certainly cuts down on the letting your mind wander and take in the scenery lol. Fun times but long days for me. Jd you could relax since you are used to moto hah

Here are some pictures I took:

    Day 1

Started about 3:00pm and aired down at the start of Cleghorn:

The views from Cleghorn were pretty fantastic:

As we gained altitude, the clouds starting to role in. It was pretty awesome!

On one particularly difficult turn, we also passed this burned out pickup on the side of the trail. Our best guess was that it is a 1st gen Toyota pickup.

After checking out the truck, we continued on up 2N17X / Pilot Rock:

    And darkness crept in:

It was dark by the time we hit Willow Springs:

We pulled into camp at about 9:30. The original plan was to camp at Holcomb Creek, but that whole area was closed. We did find a campsite just up the road that turned out pretty awesome.

High clench factor wheeling can be exhausting. From the looks of it you all came out ok even though the chance of missing paint and dents was high.

Nice pics, Dan. By the looks of it being a passenger was a little more relaxing.

    Day 2, Dishpan.

    Picture of our camp:

We packed up camp, and immediately hit Dishpan. This trail was a bit more difficult and took us a while to get through:

One particularly tough spot on Dishpan. JD almost made it through, but ended up getting a winch from Troy.

Sean making his way up Dishpan:

    And more pictures from Dishpan:

Day 2, part 2 coming up....

    Day 2, part 2:

After Dishpan, we continued on 3N16. We made a water crossing and noticed the Mini sitting on the side of the road. Hydrolocked perhaps?

    Sean's poser shot:

And we made our way along 3N14 and 4N16:

We began to make out way up the east side of White Mountain:

The views from the top of White Mountain were amazing:

Sean found a fantastic camp spot, and we pulled in before dark:

    Day 3, part 1:

We left camp just after 8:00am. We picked up 3N16 and made our way to Jacoby Canyon.

    Jacoby Canyon:

Jacoby Canyon ends on SR18, so we took SR18 for a few miles before picking up 3N03 and 2N02....

    And we continued down 2N02:

We made a side trip up Tip Top Mountain. Once again, we were treated with some fantastic views:

We picked up 2N02 once again and headed southeast:

We made our way through Rattlesnake Canyon. Rattlesnake Canyon was a pretty awesome trail. My camera battery was about to die, so I only managed a few shots of Rattlesnake Canyon.

    A massive Joshua Tree:

JD making his way through Rattlesnake Canyon:

Airing up at the end of the trail.

What an awesome time! Hopefully, with a few mods to my 4Runner, I'll be able to tackle some of these trails in the future.

Thanks for such a great time!

Troy, do you happen to have a Google Earth compatible GPS track of the route we took?

Yeah, but I was still worn out....lol. My 4Runner isn't up to par for some of these trails.
