That would be ok . I figure if I got one I would leave it in there out in the sun more times then not.

The instructions say to not leave it in direct sunlight or a hot car. I never took mine out until after the accident. I think it can live in there.

When power is cut (ign off) it records for 1 more minute then shuts down and closes out the file.

I was reading some dashcam forum about the heat issue and people aren't having failures, but occasionally they will shut down after 10 min of runtime after sitting in a really hot car all day. They are known to run hot, but not fail. The 0803 has a heatsink the 0801 doesn't have, but regardless, they seem to hold up fine longterm. I have zero plans to remove mine from the car on hot days.

Do I smell a race to capture something exciting? (excluding watching Sean perform a near perfect barrel roll!)

Looks like a great trend that we're all having... More toys and gadgets!

It didn't take long to capture a hit-and-run. As I approached, I wasn't really sure what I was looking at. I didn't realize until I watched the video later that the riced-out Civic rear-ended the Range Rover, then it takes off...you never see it again in the video. The Range Rover sees the guy running and passes cars in the shoulder to try and catch him. I saw the Range Rover pulled over to the side 1/4 mile later with no Civic in sight.

youll have to zoom in on a frame of that video and see if you can get a plate number.

I saw a couple near misses today. I will be putting my camera up in my DD this weekend.
