Thread: Front and back clunk --- still not fixed

What I find unbelievable is that I don't have MORE clunks and rattles. Saline Valley Road (and other desert locations like it) are absolute hell on shocks & bushings and any fastener.

Yup, gonna take a look at those swaybar bolts. I changed out the driver's CV on Sunday, it's solid. Considering changing out motor mounts, but it seems to be coming from the front driver's side for sure.
Wonder if its a loose balljoint or tierod/tirerod end then Bob?

I hate rattles, I learned a long time ago that if the vehicle is gonna be subject to bad roads and bad vibrations some blue loctite goes a long way.

Bob, if you're only hearing it when you're coming from a dead stop then it might be the driveshaft that needs a bit of lubing. If you want I've got the lube tool so feel free to come by to pick it up. I'll let someone in so you can grab it.

Otherwise the tool like 10-15 bucks + grease which isn't that much more.

If you've already lubed the driveshaft and the sound is still there then doh! can't help ya without thinking about this a bit more.

It seems like several of your past issues have simply been loose bolts/nuts. I would get under the truck with a socket set and tighten everything under there.
Yup, tonight I'm gonna do just that starting with the front driver's side. I didn't hear anything today so that's a good sign, but probably just dumb luck.

And yes, I'm a total ninja while doing auto repair. You should've seen me welding upside down on the cabin section of the biodiesel Benz.

I am going to ask Lance to install a motion-activated Bobcam in your garage.

I'm sure everyone wishes I would put that picture to rest, but I can't do it.
