Thread: Motor Trend on the 3.4L TRD supercharger

^^ And because you are in California, you wouldn't make it 2 seconds through a smog inspection. The last two times I smogged my 4Runner they used the CARB EO sticker under the hood to confirm that the TRD charger was legit.

That's one of the fringe benefits of being in the military. Tags are from kentucky. I only had to smog once and it only has to pass emissions so I could get base stickers. No safety or otherwise. They looked at me funny and said I had illegal mods.....I directed them to the kentucky plates.

From what I have heard you just have to get a p.o. box 'x" amount of miles from a smog station and you don't have to smog either. Apparently that's how the super powerful sports car drivers do it.

Technically I am not really a California resident although I certainly live here. All military members are not counted in that state's census unless their home of record is that particular state.

Kentucky did have a smog check but it was deemed ineffective. I remember that they tried to put a warrant out for my arrest for not smogging my vehicle while on deployment.

I am not about to let Sean beat me in the sand drags next year, so I may be making mine less smog legal. :-)

That's one thing I need. The stickers are stuck to the PO's rig. I'll have to call TRD to get them.
