Hello everyone.
I (kinda) work with troyboy162. He was wearing a ultimate yota shirt, I did some googling and decided to join the site. I've owned several 4x4's over the years. Samurai's, 4runners, explorers, and even a terribly large dodge ram.
I had the chance to buy a truck from a friend a few months ago that I've had my eyes on since the day he got it. It's an 86 pickup. 4x4 of course, 4:30 axle gears, 4:70 t-case, factory e-locker and axle out of a 4runner, fox 2.0's at each corner with 8 way external adjusters, custom front bumper and sliders, i think its a trail gear rear bumper, custom shell (with hand sewn cover) made of .60 DOM and 6061 alum. sheet, 33x10.50's, totally stock 22r with 253,000 on the odo, custom rear shackles and front hangers, explorer leafs, ball joint spacers and v6 4runner torsions up front. sits about an inch higher than stock. its chased many desert races, ran the rubicon, darn near all the trails in the san bernardinos, and had even preran baja and has always made it home. since owning it ive basically just tightened it all up. new alternator, valve adjustment, all new fluids, rattle and squeak reduction, lol. buffed it out. clean the e-locker and got it working reliably. the future? gonna need tires soon, new carpet kit, and toying with the idea of piecing together oem stuff to add A/C and possibly power steering. heres some pictures.
