4runner ifs axle gears to 81 pickup straight axle housing

I'm just wondering if it's possible to take the front axle gears from my 1990 4runner and put them into a 1981 toyota pickup front axle. I found the straight axle at the junk yard for $150, but I'm not sure it is in good working condition or if the gear ratio is correct. My 4runner is 4.10. I know this probably seems like elementary for some of you, but I've never worked on axles before.

Thanks in advance for your answers.
