It's similar to the burner in the photo above, I use it for deep frying Turkeys......

I so hope I can make this one! I just noticed that my local club has a Sierras trip planned for the 22nd-26th, that would make for one helluva trip if I could make both.

Ok was talking to a buddy today about this trip. He is a pretty avid outdoor activity type of guy. He had done a lot of hiking, rock climbing, fishing in the area and he told me some cool things and even drew me some maps.

He told me about some hot springs to go check out. That the ones in Bishop i guess are usually pretty crowded. and these are usually pretty good to go. Even if people are camping there its usually give em there 20-30 min and they will rotate out. The second one on the map i guess is even bigger, and there is one or two more close by.

Also for the photography inclined you have to check out the Rowell Gallery.

And for those that live by the gut (that's me) to check out the Schatts bakery, they have it all and the cheese bread is worth the trip alone.

For those who like to hang off rock surfaces by the little pinkie, he told me about some of the better spots to check out.

Basically if you go into East-side mountain sports they will hook you up with directions guide books ect for these spots. the numbers are his ranking.

Said all of them are just chalk no rope needed, said it in a different way which eludes me right now.

Basically had lots of good ideas and i will definitely try to get by to get some more info. He aslo said he had a killer fishing spot or two and a few places to wheel an hike up at altitude.

I would really love to go on this trip...problem is Justin just started a new job with the City of LA and he hasn't accrued any vacation time. I'll have to talk to him, maybe I can attend with one of my friends.

Reggie, all of the places you're buddy listed are super cool. I've been to Schatt's like a million times (they have one in Mammoth, by the way); judging by the map he drew, I've been to those hot springs (be very careful bringing dogs, some of them have unknownly jumped into scalding water and died). That gallery is definately worth stopping at. There are some amazing pictures there.

In addition, just south of Bishop in Lone Pine are the Alabama Hills. There are some dirt trails you can drive on that take you to some movie locations. The movie Tremors was filmed there! Very cool.
