    Re: Summer Project Thread

yup, i woke up one morning and thought my truck had too much sheetmetal, so off to the hardware i went. 8 cutoff wheels later that was the result. More pics coming tomorrow most likely. I ran out of welding gas this morning so I need to replenish that before i can weld the last section in place. After all 3 sections are welded and smoothed out the bed bob starts.

    lookin good so far.

Im going to links in the somewhat near future if I can find the money. Dropping some coin on a full chromo 60 sometime this week.

But yea, 3link-panhard up front with 16" coils peaking through the hood. 4link with the same through the floor.

    The to-be-installed list:
    -30 spline longs
    -HP 5.29/ARB
    -Trail gear Power steering pump/resevoir/cooler
-long slip front driveshaft (silver one is my spare, the one from high angle driveline needs the D44 joint cut off and a toy flange put on)
    -R151/23 spline tcase
-Stubbs Welding sliders ( still sitting in my garage since i won them at last years SE4RJ )

    Still waiting to be delivered
    -Custom cast R151/7M bellhousing
-23 spline 4.7 gears from Marlin ( been on backorder over a month )

Hoping to get some more done with my body work today. I'll post some progress pics of that soon.

A huge thanks to Brian at WabFab. I'll always buy my parts through him now, even if he is old

Ohh, and yes my credit card is still smoldering even after repeated water dunks.

I need 23 spline tcase gears since the R151 has a 23 spline output already. Most people only need 23 spline tcase gears to go behind a dual case adapter which has a 23 spline output. Normal 4cyl trannies are 21 spline output. The 21 spliners were in stock back when i placed my order.

There are many reasons I would never buy 5:1 AA gears. Here are some of them, look 1/3 to 1/2 way down the page for the tcase gear discussion.

i got my output shaft cromod so i dont give a damn about it being weaker then a 4.7 hehe

    Re: Summer Project Thread

body work for the back of the cab is pretty much done. Bobbing the bed starts tomorrow, then I'm going to finish off the top of the bed to make it look like a normal bed, and blend it into the back of the cab.
