    Stock Tire Pressure

What do you guys recommend or suggest I use as stock tire pressure on a 99 runner? I looked on the door jamb but it said 15x7 tires which is odd since I have 16x7.

I took a reading and they were about 30psi but they look like they low on air so I usually run 32-35 psi, but can I run more? The tire says 44psi max.

The door jamb nay not necessarily be correct as your 4runner was available in different wheel/tire combinations. 32-36psi should be good for ya.

    Good luck

rule of thumb, run about 10psi less than what the max is one the side of the tire. unless your running nitrogen. in that case you can run right under the max by 1-2 psi. thats my opinion at least.

I run about 35 psi year round on my 265/70R16's, but I also check the tires constantly. Just keep in mind you'll need to add air as the weather gets colder and vice versa. If this is a pain for you, then just pay to have a tire place fill your tires to 34-35 psi with nitrogen and you'll be good year round.

exactly. gotta love nitrogen. i run it in everything. i especially love it in the Gixxer on the track. Constant tire pressures, they dont change one bit.

k I figured as what you said. In regards to nitrogen I have thought about that but due to not many people doing it and I do a lot of road trips, that won't be a pretty picture if I get a flat or need to fill up with air somewhere that doesn't have nitrogen

You can mix them but you'll begin to lose the static pressure characteristics of the pure nitrogen if introduce too much air (air is 79% nitrogen anyway). If you get a flat, air up normally and then refill with nitrogen when you get home.

i ran my trxus at 25, then they wore a little unevenly (outsides wore faster than the insides of course) so now i go to 32 or so and it is just now starting to even out. i prefer the ride at 25-28, its soft and smooth and grippy. also since i got my ultimate air tank, ive been filling them with CO2

stock tires id agree that 35psi or so will work fine.

    Re: Stock Tire Pressure

On the street I run 40 psi for better MPG, but if you want a smoother ride run 32 psi.

Tire pressure is really determined by the size, brand you are running, each has it's won characteristics, you just need to play around with pressures til you are happy.....
