Toyota Matrix CEL P0441

I was helping a friend with their 2003 Toyota Matrix which had a CEL and so I read the code with my Auterra OBD scanner. The code came back P0441 - Evaporative Emission Control System Incorrect Purge Flow, which is a pretty vague code in my book. The little I found on the net about it usually had to do with kids hooking up their cold air intakes and getting the vacuum hose routing wrong. I guarantee my friend doesn't have a CAI on there so the only other common problem seems to be the gas cap. Anyone else own a Matrix or a Pontiac Vibe that got a similar code? What was the fix?

I just cleaned gas cap o-ring, sanded the filler neck smooth (1500 grit sandpaper) and cleared the code.
I guess we'll just need to wait and see if it comes back.

Had that code on the 4runner years ago and it was the gas cap. You should be fine now
