Wow! What a weekend, I had a blast.
Thanks slosurfer, Thanks Jenn and Justin and all the people that was involve in putting this event together. It was good to meet with everyone.
You guys are awesome People. my kids are planning for the next year . And we jets got back, well me to. Sorry I have no pictures to show, my camera fall on the sand and it stop working. {Time for a new one} I am proud to be a member of an awesome group.
Again thank you all
That was my bad on the picture. I was temporarily rendered ineffective and awestruck by how high my woman had just jumped my truck (and it was still rolling). I had to check the camera to make sure I just saw vs. dreamed it when you launched.Originally Posted by Seanz0rz
I completely understand not necessarily wanting to do it again. There is that temptation to "make a great picture" which can sometimes make a great repair opportunity.

Alrighty, here we go.
Here is the group lined up. We had a lot of spectators for this photo.

Here are the people behind (or in front of in this case) the machines.

The images are of a little spot I picked out. It was not the best spot but we got some pictures. Admittedly, this was one of those that started out too steep and mellowed out at the top. It was great if you did not want to catch air but not great if you did. I was to redeem myself soon...

We moved on and rambled about. Here, I sought and found "bad jump" redemption. This started out real smooth at the bottom so you could hit it fast with out so much running "in" to it. It had just the right lip at the top.
This was Mike coming down off the top. I'm having timing issues with the digicam. My PDA has an irritating delay and this does not. I was taking pictures too soon but waited too long to take this one.

This one I took way too soon.. uhg....

This one I could have waited a split second longer but you can tell how high this guy is going to go. I think he broke an engine mount on this jump. It was very impressive. His rig still drove out under its own power. Gotta love that.

My cousin Michael is studying mechanical engineering at Cal Poly and I let him take the truck for a whirl. I think I might have hooked another "victim". He really enjoyed it and might just be an Toyota owner one day.

So, I was explaining to Claire that you really have to keep your speeds up when in thick sand with stock tires which was especially true when climbing steep hills. This is one way of saying, "I heard you the first time!" or maybe just "Weeeeeeeeeeeeeee". Again, I must learn to wait just a little bit longer to use the burst function 'cause she got up there.

Here we are back at camp. It gets a tad chilly in the afternoons when the wind is up. We had so much fun.

Chris, Lance, Bob, I'm sure you have heard it a few times but thanks for putting this on. It has to be a ton of work and it's great you guys stepped up to do it. I really enjoyed meeting everyone. We all got to see some awesome vehicles, great launches, and hang out together. I know I am excited to build up my rig more so I can enjoy those sorts of things a bit more without the worry.
If another event was to pop up in the coming months I would try very hard to make it.
Take care everyone and see hopefully we'll see you all again soon!

Thank you to all of the organizers and sponsors for making this such an awesome event!
Just a few highlights—the Winnebago doing 55 mph on the beach, Mike’s PA speaker falling off and dragging in the sand (that didn’t keep him from talking on it), the 4 gallons (!!) of clam chowder that Chris delivered to camp on Saturday night and the late drag races between myself, Mike (4x4Mike), UKMeyers, Chris (slosurfer) and Frank (elripster). I'm sure my truck hated the whooptie-doos (whatever you call them) at the starting line and the full throttle redline shifts, but it was sure fun!
Thanks again all!
Aw man, if only we had some videos of the sand drags, that would have been cool.

The way I was sand dragging, I would have been the perfect one to video it. Especially the first one, where Mike got all 4 off the ground and flew sideways halfway into my lane.

Frank and Claire, thank you for giving the RC FJCruiser to Jack. He loves it, he even slept with it last night. Also, you will be glad to know, when I finally got home last night from the garcia trail run, the first thing he did was show it to me and then said, "Daddy, can we build a jump for it!" Then he ran off into his room and grabbed a book and something to prop it up on, and proceeded to launch it. That was one of those "proud papa" moments. Thanks again, and thanks for coming and bringing the raffle prizes.
Did you get any wine tasting in yesterday?
