    Fog Light or Driving Light

Well, it's time to upgrade to some Hella style lights. I currently have a set of factory Toyota fog lights on my 97 4Runner.

Should I go with driving lights or fog lights. Also, I know a lot of you are running Hella', but wanted to get some suggestions on any other light that I might look at or should consider.

You are looking at two different beam pattern so you'll have to decide which suits your needs. Btw, check out Lightforce as they've got some great stuff. Also on a same note, they'll be releasing a new product towards the end of the year so that may suit your needs too.

    Happy searching

I think the fog pattern would suit me better, but was considering leaving the factory fog on, that was why I wondered if there was any preference from fellow UY'ers.

Thanks for the heads up on the Lightforce lead.

depends on your needs. do you ahve a lot of fog in your area? if yes, upgrade your fogs. do you do alot of nite driving? if yes, get some light forces or the more expensive hellas (5000?). hella 500s are kinda weak

    Bob,

I think you are talking about the Hella 4000 lights. They can be bought as non-HID and HID. You can also buy a conversion kit at a later date to uprade your non-HID light to HID.

I have the Hella 4000's non-HID with a 100w H2? bulb and they are brilliant.

Better fog lights are usually a color of yellow. They don't reflect as much off the fog and allow you to see road serface better. TJ

Check out the beginning of this video. At one point I have to turn off my Hella 4k's because of oncoming vehicles and I have my center pencil-beam wired independently of my two outside driving lights.

im trying to track down some amber 4" lights to fit the new shrockworks bumper thats on order, but cant find anything besides $200 piaa lights that are white/blue. know of any?

i really perfer amber fogs, growing up in the mountains, with fog that was so bad the passenger would have to lean out with a flash light and tell the driver how far from the edge of the lane they were.

I believe it, Bruce. I am already seriously impressed with just the non-HID lightoutput with the 100w bulbs! There is absolutely no point in putting my headlights on when all 3 are going!
