I took Jack and camped in Pismo again this weekend for SnT. We had a blast, saw some absolutely amazing toyotas, and met some really cool people. I was able to hang with eric (blackrunner), so I wasn't the only UY there. They had a 5K fun run which had about 130 runners participate (not bad for 8:30 in the morning on a Saturday. I walked it with Jack and actually had to carry him for half of it, and I am still sore. For anyone who has wondered if they should go to this event, it is not one to be missed. Even if you don't drive in the dunes, it is a blast to come out and walk the massive camp and drool over the rigs. I didn't get many pics, because I had Jack to wrangle all weekend, but I got some shots of one of the most unique FJ40's I have ever seen.
Thanks Jim and Kathryn! Jack and I had a blast. Thanks to the Norcal crew and all who brought food! I can still smell that pork roasting in that box. I met a bunch of cool folks and can't wait for next year.
Here a couple pics, I didn't take many as my 3yr. old son kept me pretty busy.
This FJ40 camper was put together in the 70's by some guys who were working on the Alaskan pipeline. It has a working heater, ice box, table, etc... I believe it also has a V8 in it! Definately the coolest thing I saw out there! I didn't get any pics of the driverside door, but it is similar to passenger door but only short!
