    Welding carts

Post up pics of your custom welding carts. Here's mine that I just finished. I still need to put a safety strap around the bottle and I also forgot to weld on some hooks to hold misc stuff like brushes, etc.

    Steve - nice work.

You are going to find (as I have on my TIG cart I made) that you're going to want bigger wheels. Those will get hung up on every little thing on the floor (ask me how I know)

    What model Miller is that?

Isn't a welding cart the first project of anyone getting a welder?!

I agree you'll definately want bigger wheels, but still very nice setup Steve!

    Re: Welding carts

Well, it all started when I set out to clean up the garage a little. I looked over and saw the welder sitting there with the helmet on top of it and decided that in order to clean up the garage the helmet needed a place to be. So naturally, I had to make a welding cart. But of course, to make a welding cart I had to refurbish the old bench grinder I picked up from my dad.

    So I did that.

But then I need a proper place for the bench grinder instead of it being bolted down to a piece of wood sitting on my desk. So this weekend's project is to build a proper work bench.

I still have to clean up the garage. It's a miller 180, so 220V.

I had the wheels laying around so I used them.

    Re: Welding carts

I didn't build mine but I modified it with bigger wheels like Mike was talking about since I end up dragging it around the yard more than welding in the shop. They were about $20 at Northern.
