Uh...was this a typo, a sale's pitch, or is this for real?
I couldn't find anything on Toyota's site about an available 4.7 on the 2010.
Found the ad on autotrader.com.

A misprint. Especially so because the new V6 has 270HP and 278 ft-lb torque.
That said - I'd love a V8 in the new 'runner.
'96 SR5 5VZ-FE. 89k . 265/75/16 REVO 2s. Sonoran Steel 1.2, HID projector retrofit, Lightforce 170s.
Well they did discontinue the the 4.7 anyway, if they were to put a v8 in it it'd be the new 4.6L

The GX will have the v8 but the 4runner will only have the v6 and i4. sorry
I know I was all excited when I first saw some hint of the v8 to stay in the 4runner for 2010 but when the final spec was released it was only the v6 and the i4 crap so... yea....
Get the GX if you want the v8 puppy

Thats still a TON of power for a V6, makes the old 4.7L shameful if anything.

Never said the v6 was crap but the i4 is crap. Considering the weight of the 2010 4runner, I'm surprised they even bothered to the release it w/ the i4! the i4 on the tacoma (std cab) might be reasonable but anything bigger than that is definitely underpowered.
The v6 is actually a great engine but the v8 with its torque is something else Just no comparison but then again we're comparing apples to oranges...

It seems that quite a few people are dissapointed about the lack of V8 until they drive it.....it feels like a V8. It hauls!

Well, I figured 4.7 wasn't in the works. Seems like this falls into false advertising category. It clearly says, "2010 4Runner available 260hp 4.7 V8 engine", which doesn't seem to exist. The new 4.6 would be a great option, but I'd be happy with the V6, especially if they eventually offered a 6spd manual (probably never).
2ndgen, thanks for posting those screen shots. Those are some awesome diagrams!

Lance, I was looking at pictures of the GX460 a couple days ago. It is pretty ugly, but I really like the interior.
