    15" vs. 16" rims

on the data plate of my 99, it says the stock tire size is : 225/75/15, but the tires on the truck is 265/70/16, so i thought good, the p.o. has the tires upgraded. when i sold my 94 a week later, i kept the 32"x11.5x15 mud tires/rims think i would put them on the 99 after the lift.

i got up very early this morning to try the 32" on, just to found out they won't fit, the breaks are too big for the 15" rims. WTF!!!!! rims are good and tires only have 8500 miles on them, what are my options?

    sigh...

They won't fit your '99 unfortunately. Probably best to sell them and buy a set of 16" rims and tires.

well the 32's for as much as you can get for them, and buy a set for the 16 inch wheels.

all 3rd gens i have come across have been labeled that way with the 15 inch wheels. only the 4cylinder base model came like that. you will need 16 inch wheels.

I believe they all get that door jamb label with the 225/75/15 on there as a default. But mostly all V6's get the upgrade to 265/70/16 from the factory, as well as the bigger rotors and calipers. This should not be a complaint, as people already have trouble with warping with the bigger rotors.

    Re: 15" vs. 16" rims

Ok I'm confused. I have a 3rd gen, 2.7L with 4WD. I have the same label stating 15" rims, but I've measured them and they are 16" in diameter. Am I smoking weed or do I have 16" rims. They look exactly like every other 3rd gen I've ever seen. I've owned the truck since new.
