All electric 80mph TRIAC

This three wheeled highway capable plug-in eletric vehicle can go up to 80mph!!! Ok not that you'd want to risk getting a ticket it's good to know it can go that fast!

Priced at around $20k it's a fun lovin two (side) seated eco-friendly ride! O yeah you can use this sucker on the HOV lanes too! You'll never see me pimpin one of these but I'm sure someone won't mind the riding this cool ride

The top speed of an electric vehicle doesn't matter to me if it can do at least 75mph. Max range and charge time is what limit's EV's these days.

But, if you want something fast- Tesla Roaster's top speed: 125mph

Hybrids could do that . . . Toyota Volta (hybrid) - the problem with electric motors alone going that quick is that an electric motor produces less torque as it spins faster - they are most powerful at a dead stop.



The Toyota Alessandro Volta is a concept car developed in the collaboration of the Japanese manufacturer Toyota and the Italian design company Italdesign Giugiaro. The concept vehicle named after Alessandro Volta, the Italian physicist who invented the battery, was officially unveiled at the 2004 Geneva Motor Show and it is a study of a hybrid-powered sports car.

The car was built on a carbon fiber chassis and features a four wheel drive hybrid powertrain of the Lexus RX 400h which combines a 3.3-litre V6 gasoline engine with two electric engines. The gasoline engine is fitted behind the rear axle and there are additional two electrically powered engines, one on each axle. The combination develops a maximum output of 300 kW (408 bhp), which enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (0 to 62 mph) in 4.03 seconds and reach the top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). The car seats three people abreast and features drive-by-wire controls. The concept never materialized as a production car due to high costs involved.

EV torque curve dropoff is no worse than internal combustion engine, except electric motors have the possiblity for a much longer, flatter peak torque curve. Take for example, the Tesla's torque curve which according to their website has 200lb-ft of torque from 0 rpm all the way through 6000rpm-
