I looked at that and the chat - we thought the chat was more of a priority of than the shoutbox. We might consider it later if there is enough interest.

the nice thing about a shoutbox vs a chat is that the things said stays. it cuts down on the silly threads for a quick joke or video link etc.

Honestly, I hate the shoutbox at Marlin's forum. I think it's distracting and just plain annoying. Also, there's a huge liability with it as far as abuse and moderation goes. Just my 2 cents.
