The fact that Obama has no political experience or any significant accomplishments is one thing but we certainly don't need another liar and someone that we can't trust as our President. Recently, Fox News stated that Barack Obama had made the statement, in a speech, that his uncle helped liberate the Jews from Auswitch Concentration Camp at the end of WW II. WRONG: Obama does not have an uncle, as his mother, who is white, had no brothers. His father's people are not Americans. And Auswitch Concentration Camp was liberated by the Russians, not the Americans, as Auschwitz is in Poland and American troops were never there. (This hasn't been carried in the general media which is overlooking Obama's 'misstatements.')

Anatomy of a Scandal

There is only one word for it.

That word is "scandal."

That scandal is rapidly metastasizing, too. Overtaking you, your family, your business, your kid's education and, last but certainly not least, the entire global economy.

Begin with the scarlet philosophical thread that takes expression from the following people in their own distinctive styles.

William Ayers: "I am a radical, Leftist, small 'c' communist ... Maybe I'm the last communist who is willing to admit it?The ethics of Communism still appeal to me."

Jeremiah Wright: "God damn America, for treating our citizens as less than human."

Jimmy Carter: In a June 16, 1976 presentation to the Democrats' platform committee, Carter promised that America under a Carter administration would help the poor by putting "Greater effort to direct mortgage money into the financing of private housing ."

Bill Clinton and Al Gore: Writing in their 1992 campaign book Putting People First, the two promised if elected they would: "Ease the credit crunch in our inner cities?o prevent redlining (and) require financial institutions to invest in homes in their communities."

Franklin Raines: Like Carter, on this subject Clinton and Gore were as good as their word, installing Clinton Budget Director Franklin Raines to run Fannie Mae and get the job done. Raines did just what he was asked to do. As the New York Times reported on September 30, 1999:

''Fannie Mae has expanded home ownership for millions of families in the 1990's by reducing down payment requirements,'' said Franklin D. Raines, Fannie Mae's chairman and chief executive officer. ''Yet there remain too many borrowers whose credit is just a notch below what our underwriting has required who have been relegated to paying significantly higher mortgage rates in the so-called subprime market."
Barack Obama: "I've been fighting alongside ACORN on issues you care about my entire career."

And last but not least

ACORN: As Stanley Kurtz over at NRO and Sol Stern of City Journal have both uncovered, a driving force of ACORN -- quite aside from accusations that it has engaged in massive fraud in registering voters -- has been to exert political pressure on banks to give loans to those otherwise unqualified. In the name, of course, of fairness. Reported Stern on ACORN back in 2003:

ACORN's anti-capitalism leads it to deep distrust of capitalism's central instruments -- the banks and other financial institutions that ACORN would class high among those "irresponsible largest businesses." ACORN loudly campaigns against "predatory lending," "redlining," and other forms of presumed abuse by financial institutions that supposedly hinder the minority poor from getting the capital needed for home buying and business start-ups. As an antidote, ACORN has latched on to a 1977 federal law, the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA), which was aimed at ensuring that banks do not discriminate against poor minority communities. Under its rules, banks must go through a costly process of reporting where and to whom they lend money, to show that they don't discriminate. There are no official penalties for banks that get less than satisfactory ratings from the regulators on this issue. But when banks need approval for mergers or acquisitions, the CRA gives "community groups" the opportunity to lodge complaints against them, alleging suspect lending practices. If there's even the appearance of discrimination, the regulators may put the bank's deal on hold.
How did the banks respond to this political pressure from ACORN to lend money to financially unqualified applicants? Says Stern:

ACORN has developed a lucrative niche as an "advisor" to banks seeking regulatory approvals. Thus we have J. P. Morgan & Company, the legatee of the man who once symbolized for many all that was supposedly evil about American capitalism, suddenly donating hundreds of thousands of dollars to ACORN. This act of generosity and civic-mindedness came, interestingly, just as Morgan was asking bank regulators for approval of a merger with Chase Manhattan. Not to be outdone, Chase also decided to grant more than $200,000 to ACORN.
Stern concludes by quoting one "prominent consultant to the financial industry, who preferred to remain anonymous" as saying this: "The banks know they are being held up, but they are not going to fight over this. They look at it as a cost of doing business."

The cost of doing business. Wow. Remember that the next time you look at what's left of your portfolio.

Paying what amounts to blackmail money to appease the political pressures from ACORN -- while letting ACORN have their way with banks and financial institutions -- has now, incredibly, helped bring millions of Americans -- perhaps you, dear reader -- to the brink of bankruptcy. Stocks, mutual funds, 401k's, pensions, credit -- the financial guts of a family, a business, and in turn the underlying financial foundation of the U.S. government itself -- are now in serious, serious trouble. Entire Wall Street institutions are utterly collapsed. Somewhere Bill Ayers and Jeremiah Wright are surely laughing hysterically.

This is in real part because of ACORN, the self-same organization that is now being investigated for massive voter fraud in key electoral states from Pennsylvania to Nevada. The same organization which Barack Obama himself once counseled in his role as a "community organizer." (You wanted to know what a community organizer does? Look at the condition of your 401k and you will now get it immediately.) And, not to be forgotten, ACORN shares some shade of the philosophical thread that runs in varying hues from the blood red fuses of Bill Ayers bombs to the purple prose of Jeremiah Wright's sermons to the housing policies advocated and implemented by Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton and Al Gore and defended by Barney Frank and Chris Dodd and an army of Democrats captured on videotape.


DO YOU GET the picture here? Do you see the thread? William Ayers thought America was so unfair he became a self-described "radical Leftist" who expressed his views on American capitalism by bombing the U.S. Capitol and the Pentagon. Jeremiah Wright his pulpit to preach that America was so unfair because it treated our own citizens as "less than human." Jimmy Carter was so disturbed at the lack of fairness in the free market he vowed that if he were elected president in 1976 he would put "greater effort" into making sure the government could "direct mortgage money" to housing for the poor. He was as good as his word, getting the Community Reinvestment Act passed in 1977. The purpose of the Carter legislation was to reduce "discriminatory" credit practices affecting the poor. Like clockwork, this in turn opened the door for ACORN. Fannie Mae boss Franklin Raines, the Clinton appointee who walked away from the agency with $90 million, was so intent on making things fair for those "millions of families" unable to buy homes (as Clinton and Gore had promised in 1992) that he reduced "down payment requirements," a key tenet of ACORN.

Here's Stanley Kurtz -- way back in May -- on the findings of his investigation into Barack Obama and ACORN: "Obama's ties to Acorn -- arguably the most politically radical large-scale activist group in the country -- are wide, deep, and longstanding."

In other words, working with ACORN was part of Obama's self-appointed role as a "community organizer." Long before having any association with ACORN had the serious potential, as it now suddenly very much does, of being a political liability, Obama sought and received the endorsement of its political arm for his presidential campaign. These were his old buddies, so, of course, he got it. Why not? After all, in his own words at the time:

"I come out of a grassroots organizing background. That's what I did for three and half years before I went to law school. That's the reason I moved to Chicago was to organize. So this is something that I know personally, the work you do, the importance of it. I've been fighting alongside ACORN on issues you care about my entire career. Even before I was an elected official, when I ran Project Vote voter registration drive in Illinois, ACORN was smack dab in the middle of it, and we appreciate your work."
Are we clear here? Barack Obama not only was the counsel for ACORN as part of his "community organizer" role he considered "the work you do" important. Said he: "We appreciate your work." He was proud to be "fighting alongside ACORN on issues" it cared about. And what do we now know the results of ACORN's work and its issues to be? Starkly and very simply put they have:

1. Undermined the financial stability of you, your family, your business and your government with a financial collapse unrivaled since the Great Depression.

2. Flooded battleground states in this election with a massive attempt at fraudulent voter registration that is on the verge of stealing the presidency of the United States for Obama....

Obama funded extremist Afrocentrists who shared Rev. Wrightç—´ anti-Americanism

It looks like Jeremiah Wright was just the tip of the iceberg. Not only did Barack Obama savor Wrightç—´ sermons, Obama gave legitimacy and a whole lot of money to education programs built around the same extremist anti-American ideology preached by Reverend Wright. And guess what? Bill Ayers is still palling around with the same bitterly anti-American Afrocentric ideologues that he and Obama were promoting a decade ago. All this is revealed by a bit of digging, combined with a careful study of documents from the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, the education foundation Obama and Ayers jointly led in the late 1990s.

John McCain, take note. Obamaç—´ tie to Wright is no longer a purely personal question (if it ever was one) about one manç—´ choice of his pastor. The fact that Obama funded extremist Afrocentrists who shared Wrightç—´ anti-Americanism means that this is now a matter of public policy, and therefore an entirely legitimate issue in this campaign.

African Village
In the winter of 1996, the Coalition for Improved Education in [Chicagoç—´] South Shore (CIESS) announced that it had received a $200,000 grant from the Chicago Annenberg Challenge. That made CIESS an å…Žxternal partner, i.e. a community organization linked to a network of schools within the Chicago public system. This network, named the 鉄outh Shore African Village Collaborative was thoroughly é„Â*frocentric in orientation. CIESSç—´ job was to use a combination of teacher-training, curriculum advice, and community involvement to improve academic performance in the schools it worked with. CIESS would continue to receive large Annenberg grants throughout the 1990s.

The South Shore African Village Collaborative (SSAVC) was very much a part of the Afrocentric é€â€�ites of passage movement, a fringe education crusade of the 1990s. SSAVC schools featured é„Â*frican-Centered curricula built around é€â€�ites of passage ceremonies inspired by the puberty rites found in many African societies. In and of themselves, these ceremonies were harmless. Yet the philosophy that accompanied them was not. On the contrary, it was a carbon-copy of Jeremiah Wrightç—´ worldview.

Rites of Passage
To learn what the rites of passage movement was all about, we can turn to a sympathetic 1992 study published in the Journal of Negro Education by Nsenga Warfield-Coppock. In that article, Warfield-Coppock bemoans the fact that public education in the United States is shaped by �apitalism, competitiveness, racism, sexism and oppression. According to Warfield-Coppock, these American values 塗ave confused African American people and oriented them toward American definitions of achievement and success and away from traditional African values. American socialization has �roven to be dysfuntional and genocidal to the African American community, Warfield-Coppock tells us. The answer is the adolescent rites of passage movement, designed �o provide African American youth with the cultural information and values they would need to counter the potentially detrimental effects of a Eurocentrically oriented society.

The adolescent rites of passage movement that flowered in the 1990s grew out of the �ultural nationalist or 撤an-African thinking popular in radical black circles of the 1960s and 1970s. The attempt to create a virtually separate and intensely anti-American black social world began to take hold in the mid-1980s in small private schools, which carefully guarded the contents of their controversial curricula. Gradually, through external partners like CIESS, the movement spread to a few public schools. Supporters view these programs as 殿 social and cultural 訴noculation process that facilitates healthy, African-centered development among African American youth and protects them against the ravages of a racist, sexist, capitalist, and oppressive society.

We know that SSAVC was part of this movement, not only because their Annenberg proposals were filled with Afrocentric themes and references to �ites of passage, but also because SSAVC痴 faculty set up its African-centered curriculum in consultation with some of the most prominent leaders of the �ites of passage movement. For example, a CIESS teacher conference sponsored a presentation on African-centered curricula by Jacob Carruthers, a particularly controversial Afrocentrist.

Jacob Carruthers
Like other leaders of the rites of passage movement, Carruthers teaches that the true birthplace of world civilization was ancient �emet (Egypt), from which Kemetic philosophy supposedly spread to Africa as a whole. Carruthers and his colleagues believe that the values of Kemetic civilization are far superior to the isolating and oppressive, ancient Greek-based values of European and American civilization. Although academic Egyptologists and anthropologists strongly reject these historical claims, Carruthers dismisses critics as part of a white supremacist conspiracy to hide the truth of African superiority.

Carruthersç—´ key writings are collected in his book, Intellectual Warfare. Reading it is a wild, anti-American ride. In his book, we learn that Carruthers and his like-minded colleagues have formed an organization called the Association for the Study of Classical African Civilizations (ASCAC), which takes as its mission the need to é›»ismantle the European intellectual campaign to commit historicide against African peoples. Carruthers includes é„Â*frican-Americans within a group he would define as simply é„Â*frican. When forced to describe a black person as é„Â*merican, Carruthers uses quotation marks, thus indicating that no black person can be American in any authentic sense. According to Carruthers, å…¸he submission to Western civilization and its most outstanding offspring, American civilization, is, in reality, surrender to white supremacy.

Carruthersç—´ goal is to use African-centered education to recreate a separatist universe within America, a kind of state-within-a-state. The rites of passage movement is central to the plan. Carruthers sees enemies on every part of the political spectrum, from conservatives, to liberals, to academic leftists, all of whom reject advocates of Kemetic civilization, like himself, as dangerous and academically irresponsible extremists. Carruthers sees all these groups as deluded captives of white supremacist Eurocentric culture. Therefore the only safe place for Africans living in the United States (i.e. American blacks) is outside the mental boundaries of our ineradicably racist Eurocentric civilization. As Carruthers puts it: ?..some of us have chosen to reject the culture of our oppressors and recover our disrupted ancestral culture. The rites of passage movement is a way to teach young Africans in the United States how to reject America and recover their authentic African heritage.

America as Rape
Carruthers admits that Africans living in America have already been shaped by Western culture, yet compares this Americanization process to rape: 展e may not be able to get our virginity back after the rape, but we do not have to marry the rapist.... In other words, American blacks (i.e. Africans) may have been forcibly exposed to American culture, but that doesn稚 mean they need to accept it. The better option, says Carruthers, is to separate out and relearn the wisdom of Africa痴 original Kemetic culture, embodied in the teachings of the ancient wise man, Ptahhotep (an historical figure traditionally identified as the author of a Fifth Dynasty wisdom book). Anything less than re-Africanization threatens the mental, and even physical, genocide of Africans living in an ineradicably white supremacist United States.

Carruthers is a defender of Leonard Jeffries, professor in the department of black studies at City College in Harlem, infamous for his black supremacist and anti-Semitic views. Jeffries sees whites as oppressive and violent 妬ce people, in contrast to peaceful and mutually supportive black 都un people. The divergence says Jeffries, is attributable to differing levels of melanin in the skin. Jeffries also blames Jews for financing the slave trade. Carruthers defends Jeffries and excoriates the prestigious black academics Carruthers views as traitorous for denouncing their African brother, Jeffries. Carruthers痴 vision of the superior and peaceful Kemetic philosophy of Ptahhotep triumphing over Greco-Euro-American-white culture obviously parallels Jeffries opposition between ice people and sun people.

More of Carruthersç—´ education philosophy can be found in his newsletter, The Kemetic Voice. In 1997, for example, at the same time Carruthers was advising SSAVC on how to set up an African-centered curriculum, he praised the decision of New Orleans School Board to remove the name of George Washington from an elementary school. Apparently, some officials in New Orleans had decided that nobody who held slaves should have a school named after him. Carruthers touted the name-change as proof that his African-centered perspective was finally having an effect on public policy. At the demise of George Washington School, Carruthers crowed: å…¸hese events remind us of how vast the gulf is that separates the Defenders of Western Civilization from the Champions of African Civilization.

According to Chicago Annenberg Challenge records, Carruthersç—´ training session on African-centered curricula for SSAVC teachers was a huge hit: é„Â*s a consciousness raising session, it received rave reviews, and has prepared the way for the curriculum readiness survey.... These teacher-training workshops were directly funded by the Chicago Annenberg Challenge. Another sure sign of the ideological cast of SSAVCç—´ curriculum can be found in Annenberg documents noting that SSAVC students are taught the wisdom of Ptahhotep. Carruthersç—´ concerns about æÂ�Å“enticide and åµenocide at the hand of Americaç—´ white supremacist system seem to be echoed in an SSAVC document that says: å¾¹ur children need to understand the historical context of our struggles for liberation from those forces that seek to destroy us.

When Jeremiah Wright turned toward African-centered thinking in the late 1980s and early 1990s (the period when, attracted by Wrightç—´ African themes, Barack Obama first became a church member), many prominent thinkers from Carruthersç—´ Association for the Study of Classical African Civilizations were invited to speak at Trinity United Church of Christ, Carruthers himself included. We hear echoes of Carruthersç—´ work in Wrightç—´ distinction between é€â€�ight brained Africans and æ–—eft brained Europeans, in Wrightç—´ fears of U.S. government-sponsored genocide against American blacks, and in Wrightç—´ embittered attacks on Americaç—´ indelibly white-supremacist history. In Wrightç—´ Trumpet Newsmagazine, as in Carruthersç—´ own writings, blacks are often referred to as é„Â*fricans living in the diaspora rather than as Americans.

Asa Hilliard
Chicago Annenberg Challenge records also indicate that SSAVC educators invited Asa Hilliard, a pioneer of African-centered curricula and a close colleague of Carruthers, to offer a keynote address at yet another Annenberg-funded teacher training session. Hilliardç—´ ties to Wright run still deeper than Carruthersç—´. A close Wright mentor and friend, Hilliard died in 2007 while on a trip to Kemet (Egypt) with Wright and members of Wrightç—´ congregation. Hillard was scheduled to deliver several lectures to the congregants, and to speak at a meeting of the Association for the Study of Classical African Civilization, which he co-founded with Carruthers and other é„Â*frican-centered scholars. On that last trip, Hilliard accepted an appointment to the board of Wrightç—´ new elementary school, Kwame Nkrumah Academy. Speaking of the need for such a school, Wright had earlier said, 展e need to educate our children to the reality of white supremacy. Wright delivered the eulogy at Hilliardç—´ memorial service, with prominent members of ASCAC in the audience. To commemorate Hilliard, a special, two-cover double issue of Wrightç—´ Trumpet Newsmagazine was published, with a picture of Hilliard on one side, and a picture of Louis Farrakhan on the other (in celebration of a 2007 award Farrakhan received from Wright). In short, the ties between Wright and Hilliard could hardly have been closer. Clearly, then, Wrightç—´ own educational philosophy was mirrored at the Annenberg-funded SSAVC, which sought out Hilliardç—´ and Carruthersç—´ counsel to construct its curriculum.

Perhaps inadvertently, Wrightç—´ eulogy for Hilliard actually established the fringe nature of his favorite African-centered scholars. In his tribute, Wright stressed how intensely Ã¥Å*ªhite Egyptologists recoiled at the very notion of everything Asa taught. As Wright himself made plain, it seems virtually impossible to find respectable scholars of any political stripe who approve of the extremist anti-American version of Afrocentrism promoted by Hilliard and Carruthers.

Ayersç—´ Pals
An important exception to the rule is Bill Ayers himself, who not only worked with Obama to fund groups like this at the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, but who is still �alling around with the same folks. Discretely waiting until after the election, Bill Ayers and his wife, and fellow former terrorist, Bernardine Dohrn plan to release a book in 2009 entitled Race Course Against White Supremacy. The book will be published by Third World Press, a press set up by Carruthers and other members of the ASCAC. Representatives of that press were prominently present for Wright痴 eulogy at Asa Hilliard痴 memorial service. Less than a decade ago, therefore, when it came to education issues, Barack Obama, Bill Ayers, and Jeremiah Wright were pretty much on the same page.

Obamaç—´ Knowledge
Given the precedent of his earlier responses on Ayers and Wright, Obama might be inclined to deny personal knowledge of the educational philosophy he was so generously funding. Such a denial would not be convincing. For one thing, we have evidence that in 1995, the same year Obama assumed control of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, he publicly rejected �he unrealistic politics of integrationist assimilation, a stance that clearly resonates with both Wright and Carruthers. And as noted, Wright had invited Carruthers, Hilliard, and like-minded thinkers to address his Trinity congregants. Wright likes to tick off his connections to these prominent Afrocentrists in sermons, and Obama would surely have heard of them. Reading over SSAVC痴 Annenberg proposals, Obama could hardly be ignorant of what they were about. And if by some chance Obama overlooked Hilliard痴 or Carruthers痴 names, SSAVC痴 proposals are filled with references to �ites of passage and 撤tahhotep, dead giveaways for the anti-American and separatist ideological concoction favored by SSAVC.

We know that Obama did read the proposals. Annenberg documents show him commenting on proposal quality. And especially after 1995, when concerns over self-dealing and conflicts of interest forced the Ayers-headed 鼎ollaborative to distance itself from monetary issues, all funding decisions fell to Obama and the board. Significantly, there was dissent within the board. One business leader and experienced grant-smith characterized the quality of most Annenberg proposals as 殿wful. (See 典he Chicago Annenberg Challenge: The First Three Years, p. 19.) Yet Obama and his very small and divided board kept the money flowing to ideologically extremist groups like the South Shore African Village Collaborative, instead of organizations focused on traditional educational achievement.

As if the content of SSAVC documents wasn稚 warning enough, their proposals consistently misspelled �ites of passage as �ights of passage, hardly an encouraging sign from a group meant to improve children痴 reading skills. The Chicago Annenberg Challenge痴 own evaluators acknowledged that Annenberg-aided schools showed no improvement in achievement scores. Evaluators attributed that failure, in part, to the fact that many of Annenberg痴 兎xternal partners had little educational expertise. A group that puts its efforts into Kwanzaa celebrations and half-baked history certainly fits that bill, and goes a long way toward explaining how Ayers and Obama managed to waste upwards of $150 million without improving student achievement.

However he may seek to deny it, all evidence points to the fact that, from his position as board chair of the Chicago Annenberg Challenge, Barack Obama knowingly and persistently funded an educational project that shared the extremist and anti-American philosophy of Jeremiah Wright. The Wright affair was no fluke. Itç—´ time for McCain to say so.
