Amazing what some people can do to trash a place. Seeing hundreds of volunteers probably turned quite a few regular offenders away garbage in hand. Congratulations on a well staged event Tim.

It's unbelievable to see what the idiots do to the land for just a few hours of fun. Then, the land ends up getting closed down to shooting forcing the good people to drive further and further out. It's no wonder kids don't learn safe gun handling and marksmanship these days.

Anyway, it was great to see all the people out there cleaning up after the slobs. The event was handled very professionally with sponsors, clubs, local media, and the sheriff's dept.

    Pics here:

The sheriff dept has a rock buggy that they used to cruise around in and it turned out the sheriff was very much needed. Despite there being signs at each of the shooting locations, there were still some people shooting and some idiots refused to leave when asked by the volunteers. Over the CB could be heard calls for the sheriff to come over and lend a hand.

If you look closely, you'll see the barrel of an AR sticking up from between the seats.

In the little section that our group cleaned up there were probably about 20-30 people cleaning and it took us 2.5 hours to finish. The wife, co-worker, and I ended up leaving after this but the cleanup went into the afternoon.

Steve Schaefer and his crew from Sonoran Steel were there to lend a hand as well.

Here are the before and after pictures, but they don't do it justice. We had a huge pile of trash bags that took many truck loads to haul away.
