    I bet those super heavy duty carts at Lowes and Home Depot would work well as a base too.

    haha, No joke I thought about stealing a shoping cart, but then the thought of going to jail and not being able to use my welder came up...so I said nay..

    they also work great as a way to store an engine - makes it easy to move the thing around and it's low enough to the ground that you don't have to worry about it tipping over

    damn that shopping cart one is the best!!! I gotta find myself one

    btw there was an episode on Discovery Channel's "How it's made" show and it walked through the process of making one of those shopping carts. pretty cool... and damn $$$ too from what the documentary said. def not a cheapie.

    One of these cut shorter would be awesome:



    They are pretty robust, and I think a lot of them have a brake built in.

    I wouldn't steal one. They are nice but if caught you'll be in some trouble.
    These are some shoots from when I built a little walk way. I think this was ~1100 pounds. It loaded fine but I could barely move it. I was sweating like a stuck pig by the time I got to the register. I had 3 of these loads before the walk way was finished.
